Not.
I am on $30 monthly 30GB unlimited talk and text plan. I can use all my quota 30GB for Hotspot. No additional charge.
When I use them 6 months ago, hotspot was additional. But then because my phone was rooted, it bypassed that. Their LTE plan is no better than visible when it comes to prioritization. I was at an event several times, and my phone was pretty useless.
You can find Lycamobile sim cards loaded with 4 months of 9gb LTE for $35 on eBay. Runs on T Mobile.

I activated my wife's line over the weekend and am really impressed so far. The speedtests have been superfast, much faster than my Redpocket GSMA in the same spots. They also have a really well-designed mobile app.

One thing I found was that you can create a shared data plan, that shares a set amount of data across all lines, which they call a 'pool'. It's $9/line for calls and texts, then $2/GB for data. You can even create a pool for yourself with only a single line, which actually comes out slightly cheaper than the standard 5GB plan that this deal signs you up for:

5GB comparison:
(This 3-month deal's plan AFTER the 3-months is over) Data Bundle Plan: $15 base + 4.91 service fee/taxes = $19.91/m
Pooled Data Plan: $9 base + $10 data ($2x 5GB) + 0.48 tax = $19.48/m

BUT! The best part of the pooled plan is that it INCLUDES HotSpot! So if that was a dealbreaker for you, you can get it by moving yourself to a pooled plan at the end of your 3-month prepaid service, which is what I will be doing for my wife's line. And as she rarely uses more than 2GBs of data/month, I will start her pool on the 2GB/m data limit, and if she needs more, she can add it immediately at any time through the app at a cost of $2/GB. That would make her monthly charge only $13.48/m for 2GBs of data and unlt. calls/texts, plus Hotspot! Not bad!

IMO, it's not much of a benefit if you are the kind of user that has several devices and likes to swap your physical SIM card to other devices often. But as all ESIM-compatible phones also have a physical SIM slot, it does free up your physical SIM slot so that you can insert a physical SIM from another carrier and have dual-SIM capability if your phone supports that feature.

For me none. It gives the carriers greater control.

So, is this like MintMobile or hard capped?!
It appears that after your data is used up, you still get unltd. data but at 2G speeds, according to this Reddit user using the Black (Verizon) sim:

I tried to use this company with 3 galaxy s10+ and a galaxy a20. The 3 s10+ would only make phone calls and the a20 didn't work at all. I spent 8 hours dealing with frustrating chat based tech support. Never made any progress . I canceled in less than 24 hours. They did refund the 100 worth of plan charges with little hassle.
I am trying them now with a Galaxy Note 9, black SIM. Phone was originally locked to Verizon. But now unlocked.
I could NOT send or receive any MMS after inserting the black SIM also 4G was not working. Got on chat. They had me slightly modify the access point entries under settings/connections/MobileNeworks/AccessPointNames compared to the link for Access Point Names (for Android) that I found on-line.

The changes did not seem significant and didn't work at first. Then they had me "reset network settings" (search for it in settings). This wipes out all network, Bluetooth, and wifi info. I then re-entered the three APNs again with only slight changes to what I found on-line.

After that 4G and MMS worked! On my wife's unlocked Galaxy s10 I didn't have to fiddle with any APN settings. It just worked right away.

Do you have to have a 5g phone to work with US Mobile? Will a 4g with LTE work with this service?

no, you don't have to have a 5G phone in order to use US Mobile. I currently have 4 lines and only 2 of them are 5G. I am in rural MN, no 5G towers for miles around. So my experience on the 4G and 5G phones are essentially the same.

Not true. They now have the same priority, QCI 8, as postpaid on Verizon (Super LTE). All you need to have is a 5g phone, and you'll be on QCI 8. Also, Visible's ping is terrible compared to US Mobile. I was seeing 100-200ms ping, with USM I see 10-20ms.

switched from visible to these guys this week. I have a 5g phone. visible was practically unusable with pings from 150 to 200. US mobile unlimited i have pings in the 40s to 50s and data is way better. I live in a rural area with no 5g access.

Note that this was 6 months ago. US Mobile recently changed their prioritization about 2 1/2 to 3 months ago with 5G phones only. I'm assuming their 4G is still qci of 9

Wikipedia says it's a hybrid model using TMO and Verizon, but comments are saying Verizon?
also can I switch to 30GB after 3 months or even change before the 3 months?

I have been using their service from past 5 months and I really like it. Their service sucks when we travel via small rural farm towns in the Midwest. The service is practically dead if you travel through those towns.

I wonder if widespread 5G will eventually cause lowering of prices for unlimited to $10 a month.......
