Just speculation here, but just about anything from Costco comes with a better warranty/guarantee than you'll get anywhere else. Customer service is generally better, imo, and they also generally do a better job of curating their merchandise so there are fewer lower quality things, generally speaking.

If there are comparable items, like the ladders mentioned here, I'll buy from costco 10/10 times.

Plus they don't pay referral $ to sd

Just a PSA reminder: always take precautions and safety measures like wearing a helmet, safety harness and others when working at great heights. I had a neighbor who fell off a ladder, suffered a severe concussion but succumbed to his injuries, all in a span of a weekend. He had a wife, three children ( all under the age of 12) and a shocked & heartbroken community.

I have this and it's my go to ladder for most everything! It's awesome and love the tip wheels for rolling it to site. Also love the adjustable legs for when you are on an uneven surface. I liked it so much I even bought the shelf add on for holding tools/paint.

I just bought the gorilla ladder 18ft for same price from home Depot. No wheels. Is this a better option?

Other than the wheels they're pretty similar. This size ladder normally isn't heavy enough to justify needing wheels.

Have had this for a few years, very thoughtful in design, sturdy, and relatively light!

Bought this for my new house. Very happy with it so far. It's a little heavy for some quick tasks, so I find myself using a 4 foot fiberglass ladder, but for everything else I grab this. Very sturdy, solid, easy to use. Edit: Also - as someone mentioned, I don't use the wheels often on this. Might be useful if you're moving the ladder to a neighbors house down the street, but don't need them around the house.

Great ladder! Would also recommend adding a tray. There's also a little bag option available.

Can anyone with this ladder tell me how wide the feet are? I need something for my 2 attic crawl spaces. Right now I use my 6ft A frame but I have to step on steps you're not supposed to and hoist myself up into the attic. I want to make sure this would fit, even if have to turn it long way first to get through the opening and then reposition.

I don't think this model has the adjustable legs, unless I'm missing something?

I don't own this, but my friend who's a professional painter swears by this. Literally pitched it to me as if I have to buy a ladder this is the one they use for their business.

You can buy a kit to add wheels. The install requires drilling out a rivet, it's not difficult, but not ikea easy. Having had the wheels for a few weeks it's nice but not a must have if you're using it occasionally (rather than professionally).

I'm a little surprised by the overwhelming positive reaction to this thread. I posted the $150 HD deal and got downvotes and some snark on the price. Though as you mention that didn't have wheels included which is an extra $20.
