Had it on VHS for the nostalgic intro (first 4 mins). Haven't seen another movie that puts the grunts of the Navy front and center right at the beginning. Some eye candies of the Tomcat (F-14) as well. Somewhere in the middle of the ocean, far, far away from home, these green, brown, red, purple, blue, yellow shirts are toiling away on a flight deck 12 hours a day. Salute to the vets and active servicemen. Thank you for your service. Crank up the volume and enjoy a very entertaining movie. Too bad it's only free on Xfinity. There's also an HD version of the intro on YouTube that's quite enjoyable to watch. Put it on rewind Smilie

I just did the support chat and the rep said it is because I recently moved. I haven't moved in more than 10 years and they just disconnected with me. "Diamond" level for what ever that means.

Does Xfinity still have customers!
Yes, and not by choice. It's called regulatory capture and local corruption. My city won't let any other high speed choices become available.

Fun fact: Top Gun was the first major release on VHS to have a commercial at the start of the tape. The ad was for Pepsi and the marketing deal resulted in a purchase price of $29.95 (my memory; Wiki says $26.95). This was a watershed event in VHS tape sales as, until this point, blockbuster movies of the time were approaching $90 for new releases - Aliens was released to tape at $89.95 iirc. It was one of the reasons video rental stores were so popular vs buying tapes - purchasing was just stupid expensive. $90 in 1986 is equivalent to $236 today. For a single movie (and a NTSC resolution, no less!).

Only overrated by fans. Critics know what's up, in this case. That's why it has a rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm a huge fan of Tom Cruise movies, but not this one. I've never understood the love for this.

for the amount of taxes one will pay for acquiring this digital copy, its much cheaper to get a code off reddit or other movie forums that would be redeemable on Vudu/Fandango. might even be able to snag a UHD code for that matter. Just my 2c, based off my experience. I redeemed a copy of Knives Out and paid $2.38 in taxes.

Do you have TV service from Comcast or just internet? Didn't work for me with just internet, but my neighbor got it and they pay for cable TV too....

Edit:. Read the terms: Offer limited to Xfinity Rewards Members with X1 or activated Xfinity Flex box with account in good standing.

Even though it's free I don't have their streaming flex box. X1 is what they call their digital cable box.

Yep; I only just have internet which maybe the reason why it didn't work.

I just clicked on the link for the coupon, I didn't actually order the movie yet. But the credit has already shown up on my account. Just wondering if the credit stays if I don't ever buy the movie or maybe if I don't buy the movie by the deadline they will just take the credit back.
They will take the credit back if you don't order the movie. They did that to me with Jurassic Park last month
