SD URL that you see in the OP only show "gap.com" because it hides the subdomain (?) "bananarepublic.gap.com" https://bananarepublic.gap.com https://oldnavy.gap.com https://athleta.gap.com/.
I hope this helps. Happy Shopping!

and fwiw, the links all take you to BR's website, not the gap (I solved that mystery by actually clicking on them instead of writing a paragraph speculating about what MIGHT happen if I clicked on them)

And your suggestion is to shop at....?
It's not a trend and has been around for decades. If retailers lower margins to a certain point, they want to guarantee no returns.
I like the jeans but for me to risk a final sale the price needs to be much lower
Long (29.5" inseam): 32, 33, 34, 36, 38" W
It's a very soft denim… they may not be skinny jeans that look like they were painted on a perfectly sculpted body, but they're very comfortable vs raw denim, and they don't easily wrinkle. I've found them great when I have to sit a long time or when I roll them up into a suitcase, and two pairs of these (one in black is ideal for being slightly more formal, matching more clothes) is great for most travel trips.

They have good to great quality fabrics, and can have a nice look. I personally have really enjoyed their products, particularly the Traveler jeans. BR is basically the "upmarket" brand under the GAP/old navy company, kind of like how Acura is the luxury branch for Honda. However, it is true that they have been impacted by the decline of malls and brick & mortar retail… all my traveller jeans have fit excellent, but one of them wore a hole next to the inseam after 7 months (They did a "warranty" exchange for me, my other pair lasted four years until I dropped a knife in my leg… long story), and I also have a pair of Legacy jeans that fit me great and a pair of CoolerMax (sic?) BR jeans in the same size but the waist is too loose to keep above my sitbones unless I wear a belt.
So, there is some quality control buyer caution I would advise for pants marked down this much that you can't try on first… true for all pants IMO… but for two pairs of Traveller jeans these are impulse buy prices, and not a huge loss for most people if one of them seems sized less than perfectly.
