Fans are always on for mine too. Contacted Lenovo and they said it needed warranty service. They sent it back after replacing the fan (as if that would fix the fan settings). Of course nothing changed but then I noticed electrical noises and power drain even when shut down. So I sent it back in and they said they'd make sure to fix the fan this time. They've held it for weeks now 'waiting on a part'. Already past the deadline and no update from them. It's been almost 2 months since I bought the thing and haven't been able to use it. Had to contact Lenovo 10+ times because they wouldn't send the shipping label or box when they said they would, and several times they said it was already sent but they never really did. Just delay after delay and straight up lies. Nightmare of customer service - and I've been extremely patient with them. I'm definitely never buying Lenovo again
I daily a 'G2' version of this, and the fan was a huge issue until I found a video on youtube where they showed how to enable the 'processor performance boost mode' in the power option of win10. Seems Lenovo has this hidden/disabled, and set at 'Aggressive' so the fans would go max speed whenever the CPU did anything.

Once I made the registry change I changed the setting from aggressive to efficiently enabled, and the fan now only cuts on when I' really pushing the machine.
ThinkBook is NOT ThinkPad range. ThinkPad > ThinkBook > Ideapad.

Only the speaker driver showed under Audio Devices in Device Manager. I don't think toggling the mic would remove the driver. I am still using Windows 10 but today I flashed Windows 11 Go to a flash drive and when it booted both the speaker and mic drivers were present.

Do you have this computer with Windows 11 installed and a working mic?

I picked it up yesterday and updated all drivers keeping it at Windows 10. Microphone is working fine. If you have a working Microphone at Windows 10, and not Windows 11, then it is a driver, not a hardware issue. If so, may I suggest going to Lenovo's download website and doing a manual install of the Realtek Windows 11 Audio drivers (Microphone is included in that package). Make sure it is for Windows 11, as they have a different driver listed for Windows 10 and Windows 11.

To review, when I upgraded from Win 10 to 11 my microphone was not recognized. I downgraded to Win 10 and the microphone was recognized.

Today I did a clean install of Windows 11 and the microphone showed up. I was able to install the AMD Adrenalin software which I was not able to do in Windows 10, only the Lenovo AMD drivers.

Also I had made the fan registry hack but it was lost after the upgrade. But I haven't noticed excessive fan noise with attributed set to the default "1".
