As far as I can tell, the wire doesn't detach from this version, whereas every other Steelseries over the ear headset (wired or wireless) has a cable that can be attached/detached from the headset. So you'd be SOL if you damage the wire on this one. The arctis1 aren't great for wider heads. I got the wireless version for my kids and they run a bit tight on me, but perfect for kids. So factoring in the typical use being for kids, its even less desirable with the hardwired cable.

That said, it's still a pretty decent deal, especially when you look at all the off-brand headsets with the same build-type (hardwired cable). I'm pretty sure these have the same drivers as any other steelseries headset.

I personally got the hyper x cloud 2 wireless on the 99 dollar deal and love the comfort but thought for 25 bucks maybe get these as a backup set. How would these compare sound wise to my cloud 2 since the have same drivers as higher end steel series?

It's because this isn't a great deal. The HyperX Cloud Core headset has been on sale several times in the last 3 weeks, and it's way better for only $10 more, when it's on sale. If it isn't currently on sale, it likely will be again, soon.

I bought this when it 22 bucks. Tried it and it was lackluster. No one in discord could hear me. Go with red dragons or sades for the super cheap headsets. Both are from the same company but their mic boost helps with being heard in discord and in game.

Speaking from experience with both, Hyper x cloud is cheap junk compared to the Steel series headsets. The noise cancelling on the Hyper x is problematic. I just know it is bad because it gave me severe headaches. The build material and design on the Steel series is much better imo.
One thing is that I have the Steel series 7 not 1.

I got one with the last deal and in a few days its tasty cable got vandalized by my meow meow who also likes to spray anarchy symbol around the neighborhood, so I had to solder a 4 pole braided cable and realized that the original cable actually runs 5 cables to the end to help with noise cancellation, anyway it was done at the expense of losing mic polarization. I wish its ear cups were deeper as my satellite dishlike ear cups touch the inside which makes me slightly uncomfortable but I still use. It does not feel sturdy material wise because it is very light but can help with prolonged use. Anyway, i think it is a good deal for $25.

My meow meow friend went through a "Chew on all cables coming out of computer" phase, which was a big factor in why I went wireless for my headset and VR. lol

Great, deal, but it seems like after a while because of the poor design and cheap plastic these break.

Those are my backup to my wireless steelseries. Love them both. Great sound and they block out a lot of background noise on the mic.

In for 1, thanks. I need a better headset for remote work all day since my cheapo ones are hurting my ears/head after so may hours. Plus these will make a nice backup for my primary gaming headset

How efficient are these? Asking for xbox x/s series users. The pair of headphones I have seem to have the volume set to max for me to hear anything.

Just bought these and will be returning. Sound is below average to my ears, tinny, lacking in bass compared to more expensive sets I own. In addition, the clamping force is pretty tight on my average sized head and it was very uncomfortable after a while. Oh well, worth a shot for such a low price but ultimately not worth it even at 25 bucks. The Turtle Beach Elite Atlas Pro is the best wired headset I've ever used and you can grab a refurb pair on eBay direct from Turtle Beach for 30 bucks.
