Why get a credit card with annual fees when there are plenty without the fee

I thought the same way until I got this card. I pay it off every month so I don't take a hit on interest, the points and rewards have saved me like $2500 this year alone

They don't exist but also that's not what this is as you pay $98 for trial year. There are better comparable offers with that annual fee. Pretty good deal for anyone consider VentureX for sure. Save 350 AF, same bonus value. I've heard the Capital one booking system has slim options but wonder if anyone with more experience can weigh in on that?
I tried to book 2 trips via their travel system. Was not impressed. Did not see the rates that I was able to get elsewhere. And their system does not represent every option or even give details on added fees. They are years behind.

I personally dont like Capital One. I used both a Chase Sapphire and Capital One to book different items for a cruise last year. Long story short, i caught covid and had to cancel many items. Chase was a simple login to website or call and state my case and was quickly reimbursed. Capital One, jumped on three phone calls, one rep said it was covered the other said they could not (even after furnishing the email) and was never reimbursed my flights. Cancelled Venture and kept my sapphire

This is my primary card. Never had an issue redeeming miles either through their portal or applying them retroactively to a flight purchased directly with an airline or travel agency (believe it will find airline charges automatically within 90 days of purchase). You can also just apply the miles towards your statement balance if you don't travel much.

Best travel perk is the free Global Entry/TSA precheck that saves quite a bit of time depending on the airports you frequent.

The Capitol One lounges are only $65 without a card FWIW, and the only one is currently in Terminal D at DFW. Just went last week, was pretty nice. On par with AA's Admirals Club and the like, will be a much better travel perk whenever they finally get around to putting them in more airports.

Aside from that Capitol One's Eno virtual card service is pretty nice and I wish everybody offered something similar.

Hey do u know if the points can be applied to a pre dated flight ticket ? Like if I get the points credited today (9.25) can I use it for a flight ticket booked like a month ago(8/17) ?

Beware of Capital One and their zero fraud liability. They are making me pay for $972 worth of fraudulent charges that happened while I was on vacation. Totally shady company that doesn't stand by their fraud policy. I've written to BBB about them and will never have them in my wallet again.

That's correct for two of the three Inks, so technically no.

You're also comparing apples and oranges in a business line of 3 cards to a single personal card. Most people don't think they qualify for those (I'm guessing you're aware they do since you're trying to educate us all with your impressive knowledge). This is also a 2x everyday spending card, unlike every other mid-tier card. It has its role.

If you know what you're doing, that $750 you're bent over can translate to a $2750-3250 discount on travel; sometimes more. It doesn't seem you're as savvy as you think you are. Good luck with that ego and those $750 big ones bruh LMAO
Lots of misinformation there, but to each there own.

I am trying to book an international flight and the same flight on CapOne site is $35 more expensive than on Google flights. I travelled domestically in December and during spring break. Rented a car on both occassions but CapOne was more expensive than Costco. I eventually booked with Costco travel because 10x points is not worth paying $150 difference in the price difference. Costco travel was cheaper for Budget rental (the one that I booked) plus cancellation was easy on Costco. Same with the Hotels as well, Hotels.com, Kayak showed me more variety of hotels than Capone.

In short, the Capone was pretty useless for flights. cars and hotels. Those 5x, 10x points are also only worth it if you are able to maximize the benefits by transferring to certain airlines and getting offers for the limited seats if and when they are available. Reward travel has come a long way and has actually become an hassle IMO.
