Mine is up for renewal in few months.
Well I have over 5 credit cards not including Cap1 and I was able to get the Venture and the Spark Business card from them with bonuses on both. There must be some other parameters they use other than just # of cards.
I know 2 of my friends rejected. One already had 5/24. For another score was excellent. I think, they approve if you have good score, from 760 up to 800
Good for you! I do now the other reasons that denied our application except " too many credit cards" as shown in the rejection letter.

I kept trying to get pre approval on this card but it kept pre approving me for the Venture X card. I figured since they pre approved me for the Venture X that they would approve me for this card no problem. I was wrong. They were not able to approve the Venture card today and to expect a letter explaining why not within 7-10 days.

(side note: there was someone who was approval with 780 score, and has total of 3 credit cards)
May be they are pushing high credit score people towards venture X and not venture

I have 9 credit cards and just got approved for Venture X. But i have perfect score and paid off most of my credit cards before applied
