No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

Get the Venture X if you actually travel, it's a no brainer. Even better if you base in DFW/IAD/DEN. The DFW C1 lounge is wonderful and NOT packed at all, unlike the Centurion or The Club. IAD and DEN coming later this year.
If you ever spend more than $300 in flights, that card is essentially free (10k points rewarded when paying AF). Plus the card has PPS with restaurant benefit, also newly added Plaza Premium lounges, dare I say it's a card Capitol One pay you to hold. A very solid card for now.
Why get a credit card with annual fees when there are plenty without the fee
If you don't know how to use these cards with high annual fees, just stay away. The perks easily offset the annual fees if you know how to use it correctly.

Agree. Have near perfect FICO score and yet was rejected. WTF.
Same here. Never before in my life have I been rejected for any kind of credit. FICO over 800. Never missed a payment. All accounts in good standing. Waste of time and now I have that inquiry sitting on my credit report which is not something most people would want. They can go pound sand.

I have a question and anyone who has a better understanding than me pls chime in. After i cancel my card in a year does it impact my credit score? Also can i apply again for the same card to avail their bonus again? Do i need to wait a certain amount of years or i just dont get the chance to apply for the card and bonus again?

I believe you can use any capitalone credit card to access the louges correct? Or does it need to be a certain card like the Venture X?

Canceling a card can impact your score a little bit, which is why I tend to downgrade rather than cancel completely but if I've run out of options to downgrade, I just cancel. It's never a significant hit. Depending on the card, you may be able to apply again and get the bonus but usually it requires a pretty good wait time. I think the Chase Sapphire Preferred requires a 48 month waiting period.
I'll add that I applied for this card (Venture) and was denied. I'm waiting for the letter in the mail to tell me the reason why but based on other comments I'll assume it's because I have many cards open. This knocked my score down quite a bit and I'm a little annoyed at Capital One right now.

This specific card only allows 2 visits per membership year, and can't bring guests I believe. I don't know if the PPS comes with restaurant benefit but even yes it will be limited to two times per year.
I have an offer in the mail for the Chase sapphire card, spend $4k in 3 months and get 100k points with annual fee of $95 or $98(can't remember). Is the Chase offer a better deal that this? I also wondered if getting points or getting miles is better if amount is the same.
Weird got denied for this card, but then I get offers from them that I am preapproved for some of their other cards. (also 810+ credit score)
Don't feel bad. I have a score of 831(according to Capital One as I'm an existing card member) got denied too due to having too many open credit accounts....
It seems like CapOne don't like churners.

I was denied few yrs back on their CC offer. This yr they had a checking promo, I got on that offer first. Few months later, I got the Venture X card, approved.

Chase Sapphire Preferred opened in a local branch. First year annual fee waived and $1000 cash back. Got it around late last year.
