Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

Before you do business with Capital One, do a Google search "Capital One complaints". This company's business practices are shady and will treat their own customers like a criminal if they suspect fraud. They will restrict, close your accounts and even end your relationships with them even though it wasn't your fault. Drop them as a business and go somewhere else.
Do I have to use the 75k points within the first year if I am to downgrade after a year to avoid the annual fee? Or will the points be saved (not lost) even after I downgrade to a no annual fee type card?
I'm interested in this too. Want to book a major flight this week hopefully.
For me, nope. I tried creating virtual card after getting approved. Their system kept telling me I'm not the primary account holder which I am. I'm the only user. I called 2 times, once got transferred to maybe an outsourced agent which had no clue about virtual card. And the 2nd time I called in I got a US based agent, which kinda understood the issue. But they said it could be instant, a few days blah blah. So not much help either. I had to wait 2 weeks for the physical card to arrive, at which point the flight I wanted to book had gone up in price.
Chase SR card when I got approved, the agent overnighted the card to me. CapOne wouldn't do it.

is it possible to use the card immediately after approval?
Last week I got a new card in 2 days. I also notice the virtual card in my account immediately after approval but I haven't used it. so far the process is very smooth
One of the pathetic card to
own. Very disappointed
I was unable to book tickets using Travel flight portal. Customer support was unhelpful as well and transferred me to different departments. missed out on $300 and 5x reward
Switched to Chase Sapphire and it was breeze to book tickets via their travel portal and received 40% extra miles to cover the cost plus $300 credit rewards plus 5x travel miles
Anyways 75k miles of Capital
one is equal to 50k miles of chase if you are planning to use their travel portal. save time and money and go with Chase.
There is no point comparing Kia with Lexus, by now u know which one kia. I don't have to specify
Unfortunately, C1 loves lower score and people who carry balance a lot.
Then i have a shot:-). Full transparency i do like capital one. I use their credit cards 0 percent Apr to roll debt. Their app is sleek and in the past they offered some cool promotion on their 360 accounts. I was little disappointed with the low credit limit they gave me though.
