Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.

I've booked flights on the travel site. The selection is about par what you see on Google flights. I do only see Spirit, Frontier, Delta, AA and United flights and their prices match the price on the other travel sites. They also do price protection if you book a flight when they suggest you to do it and if the price drops within a week, then they'll credit you the difference. I got back $30 for one flight.
But you have to pay for the price protection right?
If I am a primary card holder, can I take my family to airport Lounges while travelling ?
also how many time I can access airport Lounges in a year ?
can anyone please answer ?
If you are a primary card holder you can get a Priority Pass for yourself and you can take 2 guests with you. So total of 3 can use it.
The entry is unlimited, so you can go as many time as you want in a year.
PM me if you want to learn more as I used Priority Pass at multiple airports during my trip to Asia in December
But you have to pay for the price protection right?
What he means to say is price adjustment. If you see the same flight for lower price in 24 hr, they will refund the difference.
Great way to book the flight in the portal and get 5X point and then call them to price match any external website for the same flight.
Keep your 5X points and also get the flights at cheaper price.
How does that sound?
And yes, I have done it and confirm it.
I have great credit and pay my bills in full each month, and no other current Capital One products. They turned me down - but offered a crappy alternate card with no sign-up bonus which I declined - and added a hard inquiry to my credit report. I read elsewhere that they seem to want customers who have just good credit who are likely to carry a balance. So if you have great credit, beware on this one. Waste of a credit pull for nothing.
Everyone has a different situation. I have a credit score of 839. Pay my CC in full. Credit utilization less than 2%( total available credit of 200k). Applied in October and got approved for 30k in less than 30 sec.
My brother has same profile with a score of 845 and got instant approval too.
So it is not right to say that they are looking for people who carry a balance
As I mentioned earlier, I "usually" find cheaper airfares on sites like cheapoair.Com etc. Travel portals from Banks/Credit Card Companies/Airlines website has been comparatively expensive.
Book through Capital one portal and price match to Cheapo Air . Keep the 5X point and get the ticket at your desired price. Win win
Just to warn you about the transfer. Not about Capital One.
Be aware that Capital One has limited choices of transfer partners. No big boys of U.S domestic airlines.

It has emirates and Singapore airlines.they'll come in handy for my international trips. That's all I paid attention to. As a family we usually do Asia trip every 2 years. So in that sense it may work out.
Btw I'm not sure if anyone posted here. I just booked 4 round trip tickets via emirates and accumulated 10x points for my flight booking. Ticket price was same as emirates website, but for each ticket (around $2k) it says the awarded miles is close to 20k
Edit: never mind. Only got 2X points. But my sign on bonus 75000 miles already got posted

I did the same thing too. Booked a family of 4 to India round trip in Emirates. It was $ 12k in tickets( go figure the cost of travel these days) and got 60k points(5X points).
By the way airline tickets through portal is 5X, cars and hotels at 10X

Do you have Venture or Venture x? this card, Capital one Venture doesn't come with priority pass as per this source[capitalonetravel.com]

Venture. I understand that it doesn't come with priority pass. I'm fine with that. $395 seems a bit too steep for me. I will use venture for a year with $95 fee and probably decide to see if it's worth it to upgrade to Venture X,

That's what I quiet didn't understand. When I tried to book tickets, the portal showed 20800 miles per ticket (which comes to 10X). May be it's a introduction offer? or I'll know the real miles when the rewards actually post.
