Surprising. I was pre-approved and immediately was able to get virtual CC . Call csr and ask them to remove any restrictions . That would be my advise
I'll assume you are genuinely asking. The best answer is because you get MORE value for money you were ALREADY going to spend throughout the year.
There are calculators out there for every major rewards/travel card, plug in your spending and see what the card is worth to you.
HTH
Keep in mind the $300 credit is ONLY for travel purchases made THROUGH Capital One Travel. And if it's anything like Chase's rules, you don't earn points on the $300 they credit back, but you would on any amount over $300.
That's why I love my CSR, $300 back on very loosely defined travel makes it much easier to use the credit. Even though I buy tickets almost exclusively through Chase Ultimate Rewards portal anyway.
Also Chase restricts what you can do through their website, forcing you to make a phone call to them for things like requesting a credit limit increase.

They still have lots of Priority Pass lounges with food in the Lounge. Also Plaza Premium lounges are also included and it's awsome
If you are planning to use in store, you have to wait 7 working days before your card will arrive
Many credit cards waive the fee for the first year, so there is no such charge until the one year mark. Capital One Venture isn't one of them. It's normal to get the fee charged when the card is first issued, and every year after that of course.

Did everyone get charged on day one? I thought it was only after year one. Is it same with venture. X? Charged on day one?
Yes, I was charged on day one. As I said, they don't waive the fee for the first year.
I believe it's the same for Venture X, but I don't have this card.
You can also check doctorofcredit (website) for details, and search the comments there for recent data points.
I'd suggest skipping the shopping portals and 3rd party online agencies and booking directly at the airline's website anyway.
You can't. The points and travel credit are only valid on their portal.
True, but if something goes wrong with the flight, or you need to make a change, each company will tell you that you need to deal with the other.
It's not worth it, in my opinion. You will still get 2 x the miles/points using the credit card on the airline's site.

If you use portal you get 5X points plus $300 credit. They also price match the price for any other website
