Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

Need a help from experts out here. Booked an international travel through capital one portal. Have to cancel due to some unexpected developments. Is there a way to cancel and get refund if booked through portal? Ticket says 'non cancellable' and $200 fee for rescheduling. This is through emirates. Any way to get around this? Does this card offer protection against unexpected trip cancellation? Thanks in advanced
I think there is price protection, but it's usually unforseen events like death in family, weather related, personal health issues, etc. Check their website for list of covered events.
I want to apply the Chase United Explorer Credit card[chase.com] which Chase current offers 50K points after $3K purchase in the first 3 month with $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $95.
I do not travel a lot.
Anyone has this credit card and please give me some inputs compare to the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.

Did you already burn through all the better/higher card signups that you're settling for 50k airline-locked points when you don't travel much?

I'm about to buy some United Airlines tickets soon that why I looked into the United Explorer credit card.
If this Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card for 75K points is the best deal at this moment then I want to get it.
Thanks!

Chase Sapphire Preferred is 90k points, and ones generally considered more valuable/useful than Cap One points. It's in-branch only though.
Plenty of other good signups out there too, decent list here:

Also, there are cards where the annual fees are worth it because you get some benefit greater than the fees. For example, Marriott and IHG cards come with a free night worth more than the annual fee alone, not to mention status and other perks. A lot of airline cards give free checked luggage.
Applied for and got approved for Venture X, It's virtually zero annual fee, after the credits. What sold me is the lounge access and no extra charge for additional authorized users each of whom also get their lounge access.
CSR and CSP outsource their travel through expedia who outsources their calls through that Indian call center, who I've spent entire days trying to resolve travel issues w/
I wouldn't use chase travel portal ever again. I had a flight booked through them which. Had to cancel within 24 hr. They told me that the points which I redeem to book tickets will be refunded but they never did. I have called 3-4 times and the customer service is either located somewhere in south east asia( not India) and they have so poor communications skills that I am not going to call them again.
Chase customer care has gone down a lot in last 7 years

That's exactly why I got this card. We are a family of 4 and travelled to India, Dubai, Japan in December and used the lounges multiple times. The lounge access itself has paid me twice the annual fee for this card, not to mention that I got the $300 travel credit back for a hotel booking for this trip.
No way of telling. But rewards work this way. If your flight costs $1000, then you would need 100k miles, so you basically multiply x 100 of the cost of your flight; then once the charges are posted, you can go into the reward center and redeem for statement credit which then you would see a credit of $1000 in 2 business days.
Rewards does not work this way. For example, Emirates Business class to India from DC costs roughly 6K per ticket, but costs 340K miles. So clearly the rewards points worth much more n this case.

Hi. How did you access the lounge multiple times? The promo says complimentary twice a year. I am confused. I am considering applying for this card soon
