You can use the points to "erase" the charges from your tickets. It's effectively $750.

If your tickets were less than that, maybe hotel/taxi charges could be erased as well.

I just signed up for the VX, but that's what I plan to do when I get my SUB.

The general consensus seems to be that the points aren't worth a whole lot more than 1 cpp unless you can transfer them to some airline partners for certain international travel. You could probably use them in the travel portal, but I don't think they are worth any more than 1 cpp.

You can definitely get some good deals transferring domestically as well but as you stated international travel you can get insane value.

Aeroplan is a good partner to look into. I recently booked a United flight round trip from PIT to ORD for 6500 points, that's around a $250 ticket. In regards to international travel, also with Aeroplan booked a one way business class ticket JFK to BKK for 87500 points, the ticket cost $8899 before fees if I bought it outright.

It's just silly what you can get points wise on award flights if you fly abroad and catch the postings at the right time.

Why get a credit card with annual fees when there are plenty without the fee
Maybe you're just trolling, maybe you just don't know. Regardless, making fun of you is not constructive.

The value of these points is not in the "cash value" equivalent but rather what you can do with the points. As others have explained, yes, this is the equivalent of $750 but if you consider what 75k points can give you in redeemable travel rewards, they could mean several thousand dollars.

The real benefit of the Venture card (and more so the Venture X) is transferring points to a partner airline. As an example, I just booked a business class flight to Tokyo on ANA Airflines through Avianca Lifemiles. The flight was 80k miles. This flight, if you were to book it directly with the airline, would be $14,000. I paid the equivalent of $800.

Additionally, lounge access alone is worth way more than the yearly fee. If you travel a lot and you consider that to get into an airline lounge you'd have to pay $50 or $80, the fee pays for itself in just a few visits.

If the fee for this card was $1500, I'd still pay it.

Anyone know how Capital One calculates your spending for SUB purposes?

Specifically, do they subtract any merchandise returns from your spending?

It would make complete sense that you need to hit $4000 of NET spending, but that's not the way Chase calculates it. In theory, I could buy a couple of laptop computers to hit $4000 and return them the following week. I'm just wondering if CapOne does the same.

Now, I'm going to hit $4000 regardless, but I'm just curious since it would mean getting my SUB points sooner rather than later.

Chase sapphire preferred, or reserve if you can get enough value to offset the Af, plus chase freedom unlimited for everyday spending

Various Chase cards have always had the best bonuses for me. The business INK and the Sapphire (preferred or Reserve) are usually good options.

They have the absolute worst customer service. I got this card, tried to make one purchase and was flagged as suspicious and my account restricted. Had to go back and forth with them to prove I wasn't a criminal even though I already had 2 cards with them. By time it was done I wasn't even able to get this promotion because the time had passed and customer service did nothing to help. I'll stick with American Express and Chase.

So I got this card with the 75k points promo. Pluses: Comes with two memberships to Priority Pass, yours and another card holder. Downside: Points have very limited transfers to other travel partners. Points usage for reservations must be made on their website, which has limited numbers of hotels.
I had this card until 2 days ago. Got $750 worth of points that was easy to redeem. Basically, use the card on anything travel related, like hotels, etc. After the charges are posted, you can apply the charges to the points, it will be credited to the same account for the same value as the charge.

why did you drop the card? Is there a better one? I still have mine beyond the first anniversary, but reconsidering because their priority pass has dropped restaurants as of the beginning of this year.
