75k is venture w/ $95 annual fee, 90k is venture x w/ $395 annual fee. Only get the X if you travel
Please do tell us what is a great number of miles and where can one get them right now.
Sincerely,
Rohit
Weird - I have only three credit cards that were obtained in the last 24 months.

Interesting. I have the same credit rating and I have at least 8 credit cards though I can't say how many are less than 24 months old. I was approved immediately so maybe it's less than 3.

Lol, those codes can be used more than once. What happened is that you got 90k points and that poster's referral link gained him/her 40k points. That's why you see so many people posting referral codes on here. Once you have your card, you could refer your wife for another 90k points to her and 40k more to you. (as long as you can both meet spending requirements)
If you can spend the initial amount and travel credits, does it make sense for both husband and wife to have their own independent cards?
As others have pointed out, you can buy gift cards at Staples and other stores or you can pay property and income taxes with a credit card and incur fees but still worth it if it's the only way. Insurance payments and in some states like SC where I live, you can even pay state income taxes with a credit card and not be charged any fees.
Thanks for the tip. Can you somehow combine points when booking travel? What if I've already put her down as an authorized user on my card?
I've not been in either situation so can't answer. Hopefully someone else can.

75,000 miles can be used to pay for $750 travel cost booked from Capitalone. FYI, they do price match also on travel cost.
