Capital One is offering a 75,000 mile bonus after you spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening with the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card. There is $95 annual fee.

    That's interesting. My daughter has a relationship with Booking.com and her travel blog. Is there a way to use her link to Booking.com and still go through the Cap1 site for plane tickets or accomodations?

    I think this falls under Cap 1 Offers and not Capital One Travel. I don't think it will get you 5x miles.

    BTW, my offer is 4% for Booking.com, so it seems that the cashback amount also varies but then I have Venture X and the hotel bonus is 10x miles.

    Points can be transferred to alliance members of domestic airlines and booked as partner awards though, so this isn't nearly the limitation you seem to think.

    Just to cite a few examples, transfers to BA, Cathay, and Etihad all let you book American, Aeroplan and Avianca and Turkish all let you book United, Virgin Red lets you book some Delta via VAFC

    I mean I wouldn't take this deal over a comparable one for Chase UR (also because you'd be on the wrong side of 5/24 doing that), but if you've already churned all the better stuff you can certainly get some good value with the right transfers here.

    Why can't you just buy the cheapest ticket from whichever airline then apply points towards statement credit for travel expenses? What am I missing here?

    Sure, but a $50 fee for a reward redemption potentially worth thousands of dollars seems a pretty small price to pay.
