Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.

I guess they wouldn't let me transfer points between cards earlier because I have the Spark Business card. I had looked into transferring some leftover points to the spark card because the Venture only gives partial credit for the points when used as a statement credit.
You can transfer Spark > Venture but not the other way around it looks like.
I dont see the option for virtual card on the app. Dont we have to wait till we can activate the card for any transaction (including creating virtual card) to take place?
Also - how many members can access the lounge with me. If I add another card user, does it mean I can now have access to 4 people, myself, the additional card holder and 2 more people with me?
The additional card member, will it affect their account if they try to apply in the future?
I don't see the virtual card option myself. Regarding Lounge access I would expect both card holder shall be able to bring 2 more people with them to the lounge. Yes additional card member is considered card owner as well and it will impact their account when they try to apply in future.

Are you saying additional card holders will not be able to get their own SUB if they try apply card for themselves?

They will be treated as the person who owned the card for next 48 months even though not primary and that will restrict their ability to get the similar promotion again.

That's bummer, already got the card for additional user.

I don't see how this can be correct. They don't ask for SSN of the additional card members - only the name. So the additional card doesn't show up in the credit history.

I had mine with wife as additional card member and now with this deal tried to open one for my wife as primary and they disallowed the promotion when I check with them on phone before applying.

Did you tell them she is already an additional card user or did they look up and told you she is additional card user and won't qualify? Reps don't always know the details.
fark capital one, they couldn't explain what their dumb limit for my denial around opened trade lines in 24 months was. Then the CSR suggested to just resubmit, and got declined again. They wouldn't escalate in anyway.
2 min later applied for Chase Sapphire as my 4th chase card, with a super high limit.
Lots of similar horror stories I've read here and reddit, capital one doesn't like people who actually pay their cards.

I wish they were more transparent. I got the Venture X back in July with a 30K limit. I'm interested in getting the non-X Venture for the SUB, but it doesn't show up in my pre-approvals. All that's on offer are secured cards.
Applied, approved, received the card, activated and made the first purchased, go the annual fee charged, and then boom - no notification but the card gets declined the next transaction. I called to inquire and they want me to upload my state DL, my SSN card, proof of residence and bank statements for 3 months.
Reluctantly, I did that. Turns out they couldn't confirm the deposits made in the 3 months prove the annual income I reported. Like WTF - does everyone get consistent cash credited to their accounts for ALL of their income?
Thinking of cancelling the card and no longer entertaining ridiculous documentation requests.

I have both and no business.
