Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.
Show me a no annual fee card with a ~$650 bonus... I'll wait.

Does anyone know if I can somehow use my JetBlue voucher (was given for my missed connection) and book through CapitalOne (accumulate 5x points) for my future flight?
I would assume it's the same for any other operator - Delta, United, etc. Is it possible to use the airline's points/voucher by booking through Chase Travel/CapitalOne travel?
I would also like to know, same question as evox2008 but for Delta. Also if approved how long until I receive my card? I've got a few trips coming up so I'm looking for a travel card.
I tried the Venture X preapproval tool and was not preapproved. The following are the reasons. It showed I have 762 score per Transunion
• Based on your credit report from one or more of the agencies below, there is insufficient credit card history
• Based on your credit report from one or more of the agencies below, insufficient credit account experience
• Based on your credit report from one or more of the agencies below, insufficient revolving account experience

I froze Experian as it has 6 inquiries (4/18/23 and 3/19/23 latest). Per Transunion/Equifax, I have 3yrs 1 month average of open accounts (5yrs oldest, 10 months youngest account). 12 total accounts. 1-2 hard inquiries (3/19/23 latest - Venture X denial). 2% utilization. Been waiting almost a year for the preapproval tool to approve me.
I was immediately charged $95 fees after getting approved and using virtual card for online transction.
That's right, you end up paying the AF for the first year. It's your choice whether to continue paying it every year or to downgrade the card to one with no AF.
Hearing a lot of story about priority pass folks being denied entry in lounges, etc... Any feedback on that?
If the lounge you're trying to get into is on the list of lounges in your Priority App.. then I don't see why they would turn anyone away. I've never been turned away

I was approved for Venture X after having one of their Capital One secured cards for 3 or 4 years. At the time i prob only had a 720 credit score and def. above 3% credit utilization. They gave me a 20k limit and just about over a year later my limit is at $33k.
I would also like to know, same question as evox2008 but for Delta. Also if approved how long until I receive my card? I've got a few trips coming up so I'm looking for a travel card.
for venture card, it took few business days to get the physical card.
But i was in same scenario like you.
I activated my virtual card on day 2 in the mobile app and used my virtual card to book tickets.
(chase cards have expedited delivery option, but not this one)

Received a 20k line after using the preapproval tool earlier this month. Ballpark mid-high 700s, average age of account is 11 years, current utilization across existing cards was about 23% (kinda high, I know.). Card arrived 4 days after approval. I've already used the $300 travel credit, and $865 of points redemption. So far it's been a big win. Just give it another try in a few months. You'll get accepted at some point.
Get Chase Sapphire. 1 credit hit and better bonus. At first year renew try to down grade. They will reduce fee to 50% then get free $50 hotel credit and eventually downgrade to regular chase cards. Lot better than this one
I just got the exact same; very similar score, when I did pre-approval it didn't list this card did others. I guess this is one of their better cards so are more stringent. It declined me there are too many revolving accounts. I didnt need the card, sucks I got a hit on my inquiries though.

Agreed, I never had any issue like that. However, couple of times I had to wait to get in, especially at busy airports, as the lounges were near full capacity. Too many people have cards that provide lounge access :-)
