Bigger bonuses. Then once it's time to renew, you downgrade to a no annual fee card.

No matter whatever card you get from them, Cap One is wasted credit inquiries. They like to pull ALL three bureaus. Most other cards only pull one. Nothing Cap One offers is worth 3 inquires on your reports.
Cancel after one year. So effectively a $650 bonus.

I have perfect credit - score 800+. Surprised they declined my application. Feel bad they might have pulled my credit history which would reduce the credit score a little bit.
Same here 800+ But unfortunately not surprised. Actually having too high of a score can actually hurt you with a card like this one. They would prefer having someone they can make money off of. There is a reason they ask about holding balances...

Maybe... I have had an over 800 score for a long time and haven't carried any balance on any card ever that I can remember. I have a fistfull of cards from various banks and was still approved for the Venture and the Spark with bonuses on each. I do have an S-corp so maybe that makes a difference?

I have had spark card for a few years now. Have put over 1M through on that in a year. They have some strange algorithm at C1. Since they are megabank they have no human processes.
I was surprised but on the pre qualification page for the venture x it said I was approved.
Seek for the pre qualification page only on the venture X. I found the link on some credit forums.
I have a good relationship with capital one including my car loan with them.
I just need to figure out how to spend 4k in 3 months now. Maybe Kroger gift cards to places I normally buy from, or Costco giftcards ?
Anybody know if I qualify for this sign up bonus if I already got the VentureX bonus?
it says on their site -
"Existing or previous cardmembers are not eligible for this product if they have received a new cardmember bonus for this product in the past 48 months." It's important to note that this restriction appears to not apply to card families but rather is applicable only to individual cards."

You might look at some of these cards. They alternate with Visa GC's from sale period to sale period. That way you don't have to buy vendor specific cards and you'll be free to use them wherever you want.
I've read (either in this thread or elsewhere) that you can get the regular Venture SUB even if you already have received the Venture X SUB. I got my Venture X about a year ago. I'd like to sign up for the Venture, but the PreApproval tool only offers me secured cards.
Anyone have recent success doing this?
If so, did you get approved for the Venture even if the PreApproval tool did not offer the Venture card?f
Now, this card gives $75000 miles + $250 travel credit for 1st year
I just got that offer for anyone I refer and wondered if it was for referrals only or just an open offer. Annoys me a bit that I only got the 75k offer for myself.

when did u apply?
this offer is for both referral and direct apply.
Chase ink is far superior and Chase points are way better than capital one.
Chase Ink is a business card. Not relevant.
Also Chase point earnings are inconsistent. Many Chase cards only get more than 1% points when spending within the US. If you spend during travel, you only get 1% for some cards. Capital One gets the same high cashback rates anywhere in the world.
This is a travel card so maybe you should focus on comparable travel cards. That's the only thing Chase does decently.
