The app has 3 options:
Pickup at a local store ($35 min)
Delivery from local store ($35 min + tip)
Shipping (no min)

I worked for tips for years and I am against all forms of tipping. I now tip well because that is the norm and I've been there and know what it feels like. However no job should require you to live off of tips...

I agree that paying for a delivery service such as this and having to tip is ridiculous, especially for a company as financially successful as Walmart. They should pay your tip to the delivery person on behalf of your membership. If I pay $400 worth of groceries twice a month and then I have to pay a recommended 15-20% each delivery, that's a lot. What if $400 is my monthly budget? Obviously, the driver should get paid if they're bringing all of the groceries to the door but I shouldn't have to pay them out of my own pocket AND pay for your service.

Yes, for delivery from local store otherwise it's 5.99 delivery fee. No, for a regular walmart.com order.

I signed up for the 3 month trial from T-Mobile on May 17th and have placed a few orders since then including...
- a $9.93 order for store pickup
- a $21.60 order for delivery from store
- a $13.12 order for shipping

None of my orders, including those above, have had ANY added fees.

Are we supposed to start tipping our Amazon delivery drivers too?

Anyone tried it with the W+ through the Tmobile 90 day membership. Can this be applied on it?

I'm already a member and it comes up for me.
I joined May of last year when befr had a $50 cash back offer.
Walmart extended memberships 6 months when they eliminated the Rx benefit.
I joined in June of last year because of the $50 cashback. I never received 6 extra months so my subscription will soon run out. It looks like they still offer the RX benefit in my state. I have never used it so I would prefer the 6 months.

I would sign back up if I was eligible for this $50 offer, but unfortunately it says I am not eligible. With no cashback or extra offer I will probably just let the sub expire.

I'm not eligible. Unfortunate as that offer would have been enough for me to sign up.

This!

I've had W+ for five months now and pretty much gave up when I saw they request a tip for delivery from store (I think suggested was $7 on a $10 order). It might be very useful for people who don't drive but I fail to see the benefit.

Interesting enough if you decide to change your mind at checkout and pick free shipping instead it may end up sending the order to the store and have somebody deliver it for free anyway.

I had the free 3mo from Tmobile, but this seemed worth the paid upgrade. Plus, only paid members get access to the W+ event coming up. TU!

I've had a membership for about a year. Early on they didn't enforce the grocery minimum but now that it is 35, we use it less. Amazon prime almost always beats or matches on price so probably won't renew this when it expires.

If Kroger had a similar offering in my area (Houston) we'd probably use that. As it stands, Walmart+ is the only delivery game in town at a reasonable price for those that have 4+ orders per month. At about $3 per delivery it's not too bad.

you are expected to tip the whole foods delivery drivers from Amazon.

It's different than the regular order delivery service.

This would be more like the Amazon Fresh delivery service, which also "encourages" tipping. If you order online from Walmart (like from Amazon), then there is no tip. To be clear, I am against all forms of tipping, but let's compare apples to apples.

I don't use Amazon Fresh, so maybe I was misunderstanding what that was for. Assuming the person delivering you groceries was also the one who went up/down the aisles and basically went grocery shopping for you, then I would agree a tip would be warranted. It sounded like this was just for dropping off a package because Walmart is too cheap to pay people properly and wanted to shift the cost to the consumer directly. Though I assume they probably use 1099 contractors and do this anyway.
