As a math teacher, I find these Nspire models anything but user friendly. So many tiny buttons instead of the more traditional "2nd" and then the command above a standard button. Plus the operation of the system itself takes a while to get used to and is not intuitive in the way an iPhone is. Even though the graphs are more easily manipulated and look better, I'd rather have a TI-84 Plus CE any day, and that's what I use in my classroom. Just my opinion, but those who are buying for their kids may want to think twice about a TI-Nspire over a TI-84 Plus CE.
can this play drugwars in color?
My TI-83 Plus is still going strong after many many years of hard use. Learned how to program on that thing in HS, hah.

If you are a student, make sure this calculator is approved for the classes/exams you intend on using them for.....not confirmed, but its highly unlikely these would be ok for professional state exams like the eit/fe p.e. or s.e. exams

Yeah, graphing calcs seem to have very limited utility. I guess they can solve systems of equations?
would be more useful if they were bulletproof i guess

It is quite interesting to me how TI Calculators have effectively remained the same price for the past 20+ years.

I haven't kept up with it but I heard TI was trying to restrict the amount of programming (i.e. Flash/Assembly) you could do on its calculators. All in the name of the test taking cash cow, probably.

Then again, the BASIC language on the TI-89/Nspire lines is a lot more powerful than TI-83, making it easier to use sprites for example.

What a shame that would be. Writing code and running apps on graphing calcs was a jumping point for a lot of kids in high school into further computer science subjects. Definitely was for me. Would be a real shame for them to lose that.
