  • About the deal:
    • The Hasbro Cringeworthy Adult Party Game of Awkward Situations is $19.99 less (80% savings) than the list price.
  • About the product:
    • Cringeworthy is the adult party game that puts you and your friends in horrible, hilarious, NOT-suitable-for-easily-offended-ears situations. In each round, the Cringemaster reads a Situation card that sets up an open-ended scenario. Each player then chooses a Cringe card to play and reads it out loud to the group. Yes, you have to read it yourself. Got an "[Insert Name]" Cringe card? Say the name of any player other than the Cringemaster to crank up the awkwardness. Whoever makes the Cringemaster feel the most uncomfortable wins the round. Pro tip: Any card can be a winner if you sell it hard enough. Feeling brave? Play an "And then ..." Cringe card plus another Cringe card from your hand to block the win. So grab your morally compromised friends or family and get your next game night started!

This game seems.. cringe worthy. It's a spinoff of the Cards Against Humanity idea, but the content doesn't really hit the mark in my opinion. Guessing that's why it's $5.

I think there was this moment when we collectively realized that no matter how outlandish and awful the card combinations we invented, somebody out there probably believed them in their heart of hearts.

For me, the enjoyment in offensive jokes died when we realized many people unironically agreed with them.

I think the enjoyment died when people stopped being able to make/take a joke. The conversion process of speculation into realization and often accusation is a big part of the problem.

I love board games named after short-lived neologisms.

Personal faves include "Jive Turkey" from 1976, a turn-based bicentennial ripoff of Operation with a vague and sassy Thanksgiving theme; "As If," which was basically a 1994 take on Truth or Dare for the PG-13 crowd; and "Hep Cats," a 40s-era feline version of Candyland with jazz musicians trying to avoid IV-based diseases.

Fair enough - I shouldn't have tried to speak for everyone.

Yep- so much more sensitivity today. Everyone is walking on eggshells trying not to offend anyone. A good example is the previous poster apologizing for what they posted earlier.... Why?

For me, it's just the simple matter of playing it one time, laughing, and then never using the set again bc you already looked at all the cards.
