About this product:
This item is "Factory Blemished: "Like New" merchandise with a slight cosmetic flaw that is priced below MSRP. Products include full manufacturer's warranty"
It's obvious that you have never gone ice fishing. If you did you would know how an ice auger works. You start it and increase the speed so to feed the shaved ice up and out of the hole and it piles up around the hole. The only debris you get when using an iceauger is ice and shaved ice. Ice floats in the water, it doesn't sink to the bottom. Sounds like you haven't even seen a lake ice over.
Really ? but how can the ice auger bring the material ahead of the hole it is digging, teleportation ? You have to get through the ice first just to get to the water UNDER the ice. From what you are saying this is like using a drill in reverse and expecting it to bore a hole while teleporting the debris to the other side of the yet unbored hole. I must be completely confused here this isn't jiving in my head. Clarify this please.

Looks like a post hole digger to me, just need to change the bit.
Or a a mortar mixer.
Reminder: Ice augers are intended to bore through ice and deposit the debris in the bottom of the lake. A garden auger is designed to bore through earth and move the earth up and out of the hole. While not standardized, many ice augers spin opposite to earth augers.

So if I reverse the polarity It should work as an earth auger?

If you got it to spin backwards and replaced the bit with one that cuts that way.... yes... mostly... but there is also an issue of what you're cutting...

No ice fishing here in TX. Didn't do that when I lived up north, however if it can work as a post hole digger then I am definitely interested. Has anyone used one? Would it work for digging into clay soil?

lol... Some of the posts are comical....
This ice auger spins clockwise looking down the shaft as it drills just like a dirt auger and brings the material up until it pokes through the ice to the water. If you buy the dirt auger, or the extensions, they will swap with this unit.
Question is, if you want both, which is the cheapest way to buy?

If you just want the dirt auger, it is on sale as well... one has battery and charger and the other is just the head and auger. It has more power than the one man gas one I have.

That's an ice auger. Look at the cutting blades. The shaft is pretty short but the price is right.
