If you already purchased the regular Léon: The Professional, you should also have the EXTENDED CUT [moviesanywhere.com] in your MA or iTunes extra.
Check it before you buy.

Many times larger companies sell off parts of themselves when they are no longer profitable (or are skewing the balance sheets) or the company is seeking capital for new investment. Also, larger companies fall all the time. Like Blockbuster. Imagine if a once monolith like Blockbuster sold digital content...how would you access it? Oh...now it all makes sense.

Also, all my other points still remain with Amazon or Apple. Your "owned" purchases might require a subscription to access or they could cut capacity so bad the service is unusable. Didn't AOL do that? LOL.

Want proof Amazon has covered all their bases already?

https://videodirect.amazon.com/ho...d_hm_ft_la

"we reserve the right to change the terms and conditions in this Agreement at any time in our sole discretion"
"If you do not agree to changes to this Agreement or the Program Site, you should discontinue use."
"purchase a license to access digital copies of audio visual content for electronic delivery and repeated viewing over an indefinite period of time ("Digital Purchase");" "Indefinite," odd how they used that word for something you "own."

these are the kickers!!!!

"access audio visual content via one or more subscription offerings, where a fee is required to be paid for such access"
"Amazon is entitled to remove any Title, or any other Licensed Content, from the Service or from any Distribution Mode or from any Territory, for any reason, at any time. "

As long as that is your mindset, you should not be too disappointed.

Good luck being able to play a DVD after the format is 20 years old. Oh wait...

Beta failed in the format war, VHS lasted decades, laserdisc failed, DVD's can still be played in any Bluray player. Little different.

As long as that is your mindset, you should not be too disappointed.

Look, I am not saying digital purchases are a bad thing and they are wholly convenient, but just know you do not "own" any of them. You are licensing them for an indefinite period of time. It sounds like you understand that, but many others do not.

I'm one of the old school people that prefer it on disk. Hopefully it goes on sale.

All these people who think they own digital "purchases" are going to be very upset in a few years when the companies start:
-charging monthly access fees to access your "owned" videos
-close down shop suddenly
-get bought out and close down ship suddenly
-they start cutting bandwidth so bad movies become unwatchable
-or just tell their customers to pound sand

There is a reason you have to agree to a 15 page TOS when "buying" an intangible item.

Why is this on Front Page ?

Every Week all digital movies have a 4.99 or less sale.

Movies Anywhere even makes it easy for you to use the vendor of choice.

You're 100% right — we should all be worried that *Amazon* or *Apple* is going to get bought out by a larger company or close down suddenly. 🙄

It's simple: some movies aren't worth taking up space in a shelf or box in the closet/garage/storage. I've got DVDs (not Blu-ray's) that haven't been opened in decades; VHSes that haven't been unsleeved since the Reagan era. It's not a big deal. For $5, if I get to watch it once or twice, then I'm good. It's no different than Blockbuster, you just don't have a set return date.

If it's something you watch frequently (holiday traditions, first date movie, etc etc) then sure a DVD might make sense so you can guarantee access 50+ years (good luck finding a Betamax player today or a DVD player in two generations). Otherwise: just think of them as indefinite rentals.

Apparently the movie is so good they didn't think one FP post today was enough.

In all seriousness, a seasoned film critic would tell you this is a top ~35 movie of all time. It's a movie that going to make you 'feel', one way or another.

I can understand why people are excited to share a deal on it.
