I'm not discrediting your knowledge or years of experience. I'm just stating facts from my direct experience with these products having currently owned this specific set in particular. Is it good for what it is? Sure.
Is it going to compete against a true cabinet speaker? No.
Just saying that it is better because of the brand is a weak argument that is used far too often by fanboys that love to hate Klipsch. I'm not making the argument that Klipsch is the most accurate or the highest quality product on the market (I wouldn't even bother with their Reference line) but they make some really solid products for the money. I happen to lean toward the brighter sound profile Klipsch often has associated with them. Some people hate it or consider it too harsh but it doesn't bother me. Their latest Reference Premiere lineup has been receiving high reviews and it's said to be a move toward a more neutral, accurate sound. Again, I'm not saying Klipsch is better than KEF or vice versa. What I am saying is it is a ridiculous statement to say that this specific product is better than Klipsch and JBL speaker deals that have been posted lately purely, 'because brand' and ignoring the product form factor and capabilities (or lack thereof).
You are incorrect. KEF makes great products but this particular setup doesn't stand a chance against the Klipsch or JBL cabinet speaker deals that have been posted as of late. I have this set and am currently trying to sell it. It is excellent if you have a lot of space issues that requires low profile and that's it. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great for what it is but it is limited by its thin form factor.
Your assessments of Klipsch and JBL deals as "junk" is just fan-boy nonsense in favor of an interior product.
Disclaimer: I'm switching over my home theater from Klipsch Reference Premiere to KEF. Still loved my Klipsch but looking for a change and this product was not it.
Everyone on SD is an expert and been in the industry for years Ahaha

Thanks, I had been wondering if these were good speakers or good slim speakers, sounds like the latter.

i have been in this audio industry for over 30 years. the garbage Klipsch and JBL entry level products that are constantly posted are low end products, with crappy components (Yeah open up that Klipsch and see what the crossover looks like). i bet none of the Klipsch fan boys have actually done that. this KEF set will be far more accurate in reproduction. it has far better horizontal dispersion and the Klipsch horns have a much narrower dispersion.

I have these as my living room front sound stage and KEF Q150's in my home theater (with some of these T-series as satellites). These are awesome if you are low on space and don't mind having pretty much no response under 100hz (non-scientific estimate). Really bright sound and I definitely recommend pairing with a subwoofer of course.

I just ordered two Q500 towers and I'm considering using my four T301 as satellites too. I honestly have about 5 different models of KEF satellites to play with around my setup and see what I like. I figure I'll sell what doesn't blend the best

I'd be curious how these compare to the Martin Logan SLM line or some of the passive sound bars the the GoldenEar Supercinema They're all no doubt a compromise compared to traditional speakers, but if your dealing with a partner where aesthetics are paramount, these look like decent options.

Oh, absolutely, they are very decent options if space and spouse factors are a big part of the decision process. I was surprised that when I showed my set to my wife, she actually preferred my Klipsch RP cabinet setup in cherry finish all because she hated the idea of black rectangles around the room. Funny enough, she doesn't know that I'm changing everything for KEF and didn't notice when I already put two in the back of the room lol.
At the end of the day, these would be leagues better than any sound bar out there simply because they provide a true surround sound experience. Even sound bars that have wireless rear satellites don't have the control that a calibrated receiver can have.
All of that being said, if you want good sound and cost is no issue, you could make much worse purchases than this KEF set. However, after testing them, I honestly don't believe they are worth $1K. That doesn't mean they are a bad product. I just believe they are priced this way because of the KEF branding. Even on sale, I would have a very hard time swallowing this one IF space and spouse factors are not taken into account

"Ultra-Low Profile"... that might be a plus with certain products BUT with speakers it diminished performance.
eg....a low profile sub-woofer does not perform as well as a non-low profile.

I've been debating in wall vs on wall.

My main concern is that I have to use in ceiling for my surround, and our nursery is the room directly above. I can't have any sound leaking into the nursery. Going with on wall, I could mount the surround speakers on the side walls.

These KEF would be a great trade off - any one have experience on how these sound vs in wall/in ceiling speakers? I was considering the Signature 7 line from snapav. I know these KEF won't have great range - I have many full cabinet speakers and understand the difference. Just looking for opinions.

Lastly, I wish I could get the fronts in black, and the rears in white - as that would blend the best with my room! Looks like buying individually, the price is much higher!
