Ordered. Merrell are my favorite shoe brand currently. I ordered the MQM Flex 2 Gore-Tex back in February on a slickdeal and they are my daily still and have held up better than any shoe I've tried in years. Spent a week in Vegas walking the strip and hiking Death Valley and the Valley of Fire right after I got them. I bought the Moabs on another slickdeal recently and have been happy with them as well although don't use them as often due to the weight/size. These Hydro Mocs look like they'll be great for the lake/boating.

They are comfy but wouldn't wear them where there is lots of tiny rocks or gravel. They get inside the shoe and don't come out, the rocks then dig into the soles of your feet, maybe more so than if you had no shoes at all.

These things are unbearable. That rubbed my heels raw. I ended up cutting the higher part off the heel to make it through my light water hike. Columbia drain maker is so much better

Totally agree with this statment. As an individual that does a lot of creek/river hiking/tubing the mud and slippery stones around creeks and rivers make this useless in that environment (albeit better than crocs, but I'd never wear crocs in that environment). Even when walking or bathing in the ocean the sand/pebbles would make this shoe uncomfortable. Best shoes I've found that are comfortable and supportive in both a dry and wet environment and will not fall off even if you standing in 6 inches of mud are KEEN Newport Hydros (very pricey though). They are also much more open to allow the removal of debrie that collects between the bottom of the foot and the shoe sole. For pool lounging I'd much rather have a comfortable pair is sliders (easy in, easy out, very comfortable and ventilated).

I have read that the hydro mocs offer better arch support and have a thicker heel but require a 1-2 week break in period to become comfortable vs. crocs which are flatter but are comfortable as soon as you put them on. Crocs are lighter and you'll have an easier time getting in and out of them as they are less form fitting. I find these hydro mocs really fugly but no one is winning any style points when wearing crocs either so to each his own. Still this is a good price vs. MSRP.

Not good for the beach. Open toes or you'll be taking theses off constantly to get rid of the sand trapped in your toes
