Can this operate without a wifi network? Is that big box thing a recording device?
Yeah the home base is where is stores recorded videos. You need internet to access videos. Home base connects either via Ethernet cable or wifi. Connecting via WiFi is preferred. If internet goes down but home base has power it will still record but you can't access recorded events until internet is restored as it uses their servers as a pathway to your home base so you can access videos or control the system remotely from your phone. This is indeed older model so I would not recommend it. Get newer eufycam 2 pro 2k model or 2c pro 2k spotlight model instead.
This homebase looks different than the one that came with my doorbell. Would I be able to use one home base with the 2 camera's and the doorbell?
Depends on which video doorbell you have. Some connect to the 2 model home base and some doorbells have internet storage in the doorbell. The doorbells that come with home base 2 can also connect to most outdoor eufycams like the 2 1080 cam, the 2 pro 2k cams, the 2c my 1080 cams and the 2c pro 2k cams. I would not recommend this older E model of cams, get the eufycam 2 pro 2k cams or 2c pro spotlight 2k cams instead.
