I have this model for a year now no issues
God I hope your dishwasher still works only after 1 year.

I come to the appliance deals for the Samsung slander.

I paid $3000 for a Samsung fridge like 5 years ago and after multiple repairs it was basically 'totaled out' by our repair guy when it got a Freon leak above the ice maker.

Also our Samsung $2k washer/dryer combo keeps giving us problems.

Seriously Samsung appliances are terrible, avoid at all costs.
One of the Home Depot workers in appliances told me she would have to fight with Samsung to honor their warranty. I would never buy samsung myself either.

Supposedly, this model comes with "leak detection."
I think most new dishwashers have some function to prevent leaks whether they brand it as a feature or not. They have a pan on the bottom like a shower pan, with a small float that connected to the drain pump.

I'd doubt this "detects" any other kind of leak (front seal, fittings not draining into that pan, etc.)

Purchased yesterday and got delivery and install confirmation today for next Thursday. Not bad at all for under $500.

Yes is there better and more expensive models out there. But can you get a new dishwasher, stainless steel and stainless tub, delivery, install, haul away and a 4 year warranty for under $500? I'll replace it with another in 4 years if needed.
How is it 4 years warranty? Website says 2 right? It used to be 4 I think!!

Wow! Did they wear masks to conceal the robbery!

It is a very good dishwasher for the price. Anything cheaper is garbage. This one has the same cleaning system and parts of Kitchenaid without having the luxury brand price tag. If you want to spend more the. Upgrade to midrange from Miele dishwasher. Bosch midrange should be your next choice. To me Miele is better. Going to higher range German does not gain that much except some extras which are not necessary. The washing power will be same. Kitchen aid is just luxury brand of Maytag. If they use the same washing system which this one does you do not gain from spending more on Kitchen aid either. As I said this is the cheapest best and then if you want to spend more just go to midrange form those German ones preferably Miele since they design their stuff with higher life time in mind and they probably last much longer than any other consumer level brand. Though remember Maytag is bigger than German ones. It is just how it has always been. American brands are more focused on size. German brands more on performance.

They are really different. Indeed I fix my cars and have to confess that they have better built quality and design in general. Cars designed for higher performance (on road or off-road) are over engineered and are built stronger to handle it. The problem is lower amount of knowledge regarding these cars in US. They have seen Japanese cars which are really designed same as American cars. But have not studied or learned or worked on German cars that much. Also it is advertisement and marketing. For example in US they sell many Toyota cars under name of Lexus with higher price tag since they were more successful in marketing. So is Lexus better than Toyota ? No they are absolutely the same and use the same parts. But many say they are more reliable in us. This is a success for marketing team. Let me tell you another example. Some models of VW uses exactly the same transmission on the Toyota Camry V6. When a person who drives Camry loses transmission he thinks he was not lucky. If the person in VW looses it , everyone in US says it is the quality of car. I have seen it by my own eyes on websites and among people around me. Come on. Also most people that I have seen drive for example a Toyota are the ones who are scared of cars and have low knowledge. I have seen many owners which have bad suspension, engine ,… but they do not understand it as long as the 4 wheels turn. But if someone buys for example an Performance German car he is picky about every little thing in the car and keeping them in good shape. Also he may push the car harder which should be considered when comparing life of the cars. You can destroy an engine under 100k if you are an aggressive driver which that may be why you bought a pecorino car vs someone who never keep the rev up for extensive amount of life of the car. But anyway this dishwasher is a good one. I have a detail review here. For 500 you can not find anything better than this. If you want to spend more get midrange Miele. I have one of these and it cleaning quality is like Kitchenaid. There was a recall for catching on fire for mine. I did not have time to take care of it yet.

Probably referring to the extended warranty provided if purchased with Costco Citi card. Costco Concierge will extend warranty up to two years after purchase. Since most items have a one year warranty, Costco will cover another year. This machine has a 2 year warranty so Costco won't kick in with any extra coverage. At the end of two years, Citi Costco will cover another two years for a total of 4 years.

Have you taken a look underneath it at all? I bet it's leaking.

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher from Costco in 2017. It has been working fine. Is the leak something that people would notice easily or is it somehow undetectable under the dishwasher?

You would see it dripping from right in the middle under the dishwasher. But only while it's running at certain parts of the cycle.
