    I remember my eye doctor was very adamant about not using eye drops with preservatives, especially BAK, which this has. He mentioned a lot of people developed dry eye conditions from using those brands that contain it.

    "The preservative in Rohto eye drops is Benzalkonium chloride (BAK). This is one of the harshest preservatives for your eyes and can lead to worse dry eye symptoms over time."

    Good eye drops aren't cheap. I use Systane. It's hard to swallow 25+ dollars for 2 small bottles, but I'm not playing around with my eyes lol

    Curious to the research behind this as oftentimes with eyedrops people will drain their eyes with them every hour or so instead of just doing 1-2 max a day. I think external factors with allergies and air quality need to be checked before prioritizing eyedrops as a solution to dry
    eyes.

    That being said, the blue one does not have this preservative present. I appreciate the heads up in any case and will be digging into some research on this because just stating "...a lot of people developed..." without any studies provided is always a silly thing to do.

    Can't vouch for or dispute the Benzalkonium chloride claims, but I suffer from dry eyes post-LASIK. A friend introduced me to Rohto and I have had good luck. That said, I don't overuse them.

    Tough to avoid BAK entirely with eye drops, but there's more and more preservative free options all the .. that being said this is pure garbage for more reasons than just the BAK

    For anyone who cares: Rohto drops dont really help relieve any or much discomfort...what you want for that is Artificial Tears like Systane, Refresh, etc. Rohto is good for taking away the redness but doesnt usually help the underlining issue. That being said I F**king love Rohto drops. Feels so good and you can "get" your friends with them if they arent expecting the burn.

    Big Lots [biglots.com] sells the SoundBody brand, advanced relief (redness + lubricant) for $1/ea. They work as well as Visine brand, would recommend for just regular irritated or red eyes
