My comments from the other thread, posted a few mins ago:

Built mine this evening and gave it a whirl. First impressions:

Notes on specs: it does NOT have dual disc brakes, only rear, and it is NOT hydraulic, it's a manual cable system to the brake lever.

Weight limit per the manual is 300lbs, not 330.

The assembly instructions are totally useless. They're basically "unfolding" instructions that don't take into account that the bike hasn't been fully assembled.

The longest process was getting the handlebars lined up with the tire, because the handlebar stem folds at like a 40° angle off axis, and you can only join the handbag stem to the frame and tighten it while it's folded.

Also the seat stem is just a shade too narrow to get locked in by the collar. I had to shim it with some gaff tape.

Once assembled, it took about an hour to fully charge (it was 80% out of the box). Tires were around 20 psi, took them to 40 per the manual.

Took it for a quick ride and had a blast. I'm not exactly sure what the three different modes do (zero info in the manual) but the first seemed to offer the most pedal assist with the third the least. Unsure if it has any effect on the throttle in full electrical mode.

I topped out at 22mph on one straight away, and 18 on another. Not sure if I was in different modes or what, I'll experiment further.

I live in a really hilly area, and got 11mph uphill with pedal assist and 9mph with straight electric.

Because of the design, it rides like a mix between a normal bike and an electric scooter. Haven't used the folding yet, but the handle is perfectly placed for assembled carry for taking it up stairs if needed, and I didn't find the weight to be unmanageable at all.

All in all I'm into it. Gonna be a great summer time ride for meeting up with people, brewery hopping, runs to the store, and generally zooming about.

And if something goes wrong with it, I've got that Costco return policy.
The Jetson Bolt Pro is 41 pounds, so you;d have to expect that a bike going 40-50% farther in distance with a higher max speed would have to be heavier for a bigger battery.

I'm not sure the rack shown in the pictures would be strong enough to hold a child, since it's just attached to that fender going over the rear wheel. You'd be better off towing a trailer for safety.

If you want a bike with a sturdier rack that a child seat could be attached to, perhaps this SD deal may work (though that bike even heavier at 56lbs):

This are the links for the Hydraulic brakes that fits on this bike .>>> https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...asin_title. and the link for the folding pedals https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...asin_title. It works , just be carful when installing the rear cable not to loose oil , .The only thing is the brake light will stay on blinking all the time when the bike power is on , or you can switch off i will figure this out . what kind of bench or seat would you mount on the back for kids?

I thinj they can sit on that back cargo rack although just noticed that in the video it's not flat nor does it have the light. I wonder which version you would get. Also range is different in the ad, and also says 450 watts. Weird

I had a guy build me a custom battery for my Bolt Pro for $250 using Tesla 21700 cells. 15Ah so close to triple the stock capacity.

Also, there's a software unlock that lets you set the max speed to 18.6mph instead of the stock 15

Here are videos from Youtube of someone who has done a lot of work modifying the Jetson Bolt Pro to extend the range and increase speed:

thanks, i think the biggest reason i was considering upgrading was the rear seat thing, or at least the possibility of being able to use it for a child to sit on the back. the video shows a different design but every other picture shows it as a ledge. im going to wait til others get it for confirmation. im sure it will go on sale, it's a recession, things are not selling out like they did during the pandemic

also dual suspension, larger wheels, larger battery, faster speed, all those things are worth the $200 and nice to have

Depending on how big your kid is, there is a saddle that can be attached to the top tube of the frame of your Jetson Bolt Pro, which may be safer than sitting on the rear rack, supported at one point, of another small e-bike:

And, if you have older kids:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb-GcFNtjS4

And, an option with a trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQw0oF_wb7k

These likely can also be added to a Voyager Radius Pro, as well.

While a recession may affect prices a certain way, so will inflation. The Jetson Bolt Pro used to be $299 at Costco, then it has gone up to $329 and as high as $349. It hasn't gone down in price over the last couple of years.

Thanks for the links, I like that extra seat that connects to the top tube. $78 on Amazon though. Oh well, had my bolt for years when it was $300. Just fun for the kids

I was happy to see that the weight limit on the Costco page says 330lbs for us bigger guys. However in the PDF manual it said 265... back to my searching! Thanks for the post!

Look at previous post if you want to read my quick review of this eBike. BTW, no issues with shipping, even surprised UPS delivered on Saturday.

So I ordered 2 of these bikes back on 7/7, and still no shipping information. They were also listed as 450 watt, but had the same part #. Seems a bit shady, fortunately it's Costco, so if they do show up at 400Watts the return will be pretty easy.

Also the BATTERY is REMOVABLE and REPLACEABLE.
All you have to do is remove 2 small screws (next to rear led) from the rear cargo carrier and swing the cargo carrier up. Then you will see the exposed battery. There is even a rope to help pull the battery out of the bike tube frame.
