The last one I played on Xbox a few years ago was a bad game. Very repetitive moves and multiplayer online was laggy and there were not enough players online to find a match. I hope this one is different and at least online multiplayer is fun. I ordered it as this game brings so much nostalgia for me from '96/'98 days of this series.

This game is a great throwback to older style KOF games while feeling modern. It's a tad easier to play than classic KOF games while still having all of the fundamental KOF elements. (MAX combos, hops/hyperhops) I'm a huge fan of KOF13 and this feels like a mix of 13 and 14 with some 2002UM thrown into there.

Online play feels great as SNK used more modern rollback netcode, although matchmaking has been a bit broken since release. It could take a while to find online matches using matchmaking and more often than not, it's the same 10-15 people during populated hours. SNK did say that they have been looking into fixing matchmaking.

SNK really knocked it out of the park with XV. IMO it's a huge success in the modern fighting game genre.
