Worth clicking through just to see the reviewer who used it to track their turtle.

I don't think the intention is to mount this on the outside of luggage. I agree, doing that would be both impractable and silly. Thieves could just pry it off. But, perhaps sticking this on an interior hard surface might be beneficial.

Turning 10 cents (or less) of plastic into a $20 MSRP item isn't dumb. It's genius. Buying these things, however….

I was ready to completely dunk on this whole idea of an AirTag mount/case until I saw the use cases. Interesting concept

Pelican is supposed to be a good brand, but I can't justify this purchase personally. I put my airtags inside one of my zipper compartments of my luggage, and they've been fine like that. Putting an adhesive on the outside of luggage just seems like it wouldn't be a good idea considering that luggage is tossed about at airports

Airtags are fine in a zippered pocket inside luggage. It's not something that you take in and out of the bag anyway. Pop it in and forget it.

A four pack multi-color is $31.36, making each $7.84 if you need more.

Luggage isn't the only location these are made for. I used "luggage" in response to a post above. The item description says: "Features & details: Adhesive Backing Allows For Secure Placement On Any Hard Surface Including Luggage, Bikes, Electronics, And More"

Also, it might be beneficial to hide it somewhere harder to reach than a zippered pocket where it's likely to be spotted.

Cheers!

Same here. 2 drops of crazy glue, and it sticks to inner wheel fender nicely. the owner has no idea

This seemed like a great idea at first, but I don't know if it really passes the security test, but probably works as a nice way to mount the things:

1) In the bike example, they mount it to the seat. On high end bikes, seat posts have quick releases

2) If its permanent, there's no way to change the battery… oh! you can open it right up and take the air tag out, but then that defeats the whole permanence aspect.

Seems like a nice mounting option, but doesn't make anything more secure than any other mounting solution.

Yeah except for the fact that Apple added a phone feature that alerts you when one of these if following you. My wife gets pissed because she is always getting these alerts.

You should be able to pause alerts for specific air tags indefinitely though it may not come up the first time. https://tidbits.com/2022/05/09/di...ag-alerts/

See the comments on that article as it seems to provide a clue on how one might be able to disable the alerts indefinitely.

would be nice if it has holes where a pair of zip ties can go thru

More of an AirTag comment.. if you're trying to track an item because it's been stolen, take the speaker out (YouTube), so the thief can't play a sound, locate it, and remove the battery.

I bought AirTags to hide in my old Land Cruiser in hopes if ever stolen it would give me a chance to locate it. Looking into this case to see if it would help protect one attached to undercarriage/frame/engine bay more than just velcroing it as-is.
