It all comes to the bait. Every fishes takes different baits. I'm a self proclaimed Master Baiter.
This is perfect for kayak or pontoon boats, I've even used it on my stand up paddle board. I personally use the pocket size power packs for jump starting, works great. Very lightweight and portable. They also power it for a decent amount of time.
Great to see this getting posted.
Thanks

I have the Striker 4 (not the plus) and so far have loved it, I use it primarily for ice fishing and have no complaints. Seems like a good deal to me.

Anyone know if the transducer can be mounted inside the hull of a jetski? Maybe use silicone to hold the sensor in place?

Could this be used on a kayak? Battery powered?
This unit is awesome to use on Kayak. It works flawlessly with your hand power tool battery of under 20volts. I use it with BD 18 v 2ah or 4ah battery and it lasts a long time. You can easily find adapters on amazon for BD batteries or Dewalt batteries. If your kayak is SOT consider installing the transducer from underneath in one of the scupper holes.

Edit: BTW, IMO this is the normal price. I had picked up this unit on Amazon around this price in Feb this year.

Edit2: It's more useful for finding structure than actual fish unless you are in very deep waters.

141 all day long in amazon. Not worth it. These traditional transducer are just junk especially you are going shallow. If you really want to get advantage, invest in a livescope or just don't buy anything
That's the dumbest thing I've read on here in a long time, congrats.

I have the original Striker 4 and have used it the last two years. The unit has been amazing for the money. I've only used it for ice fishing but it's been awesome. I'll never go fishing without it...basically turns fishing into a video game. Also does excellent in sipping battery juice.

Do you have a good way to quick mount the unit + transducer on the pontoon? I had a 4cv that i ended up getting rid of because it was cumbersome setting up on my float tube. I bought a deeper pro but that doesnt work well as i end up draining my phone battery and my phone display sucks in the sun.
What pocket size power pack are you using? And what connection?

Where do you ice fish? I'd like to try it this winter.

Assuming you don't want to mount it to the back of a tube, I have seen setups where you basically make a mount for the ducer out of PVC or wood, bolt the ducer to the mount then clamp the mount to the boat with a C-Clamp.

I'm interested in how you set up your fish finder with this type of battery. Do you have a tutorial or website that you can point me to? I'll be using this in saltwater if that makes a difference.
