Native 1080p
Pixel Shifted 4k
True 4k
The sharpness difference between pixel shifted 4k and true 4k projectors is almost not noticeable at normal seating distances. There are other major difference, but it's not resolution/sharpness related really. Epson has a few projectors that are 'half' 4k, or double 1080p, but most common home theater projectors fall into 1 of 3 categories above resolution wise these days.
The reason to not get this shouldnt be related to the resolution at all. Again basically every 4k projector under $5k is pixel shifted to get a 4k image. The reasons to not get something like this is things like it's from Wemax, so good luck with a cheap Chinese brand projector if you have any issues, etc...There's a reason these things get so incredibly cheap over time, I wouldnt want to spend the money on these, even if saving a lot of money. I bet a lot of these get throw out after a year or two.
Personally I like to stick with the bigger brands - Benq, Epson, Optoma, etc..places you know you get support from. I have a 5 year old Benq HT2050 I've been using and it's been fantastic and Benq support has been amazing through it all between firmware updates, any potential issues/questions, etc. I'm still on the original lamp as well with no noticeable dimming so far - 2,600 hours.

Another general thought, these Wemax deals pop up every few days now, one thing to note, is if someone is pushing something, then it's either worth less than they are asking, or it's old stock before new stock, just food for thought.

I wouldn't recommend gaming on something like this. The latency ruins the experience.
