I ended up ordering one. Hopefully it's not too flimsy but someone above said it's surprisingly sturdy.

I've had two of these for two years. I was surprised they were sturdy for the price of them. Only thing that is kinda flimsy is the panel that goes on the back of the shelves. But two years with no issues.

Thanks I've been looking for a tall bookshelf but a lot of them are just cheap particle board and relatively expensive for what they are. Hopefully I have good luck with this. I'm not too worried about the back as even the Ikea ones with paper back hasn't given me any issues

I have 4 of these bookcases. 3 have held up ok, but one of them collapsed sideways into the wall. It did have a fair amount of weight on it, so be careful not to overload these (especially up high). They also will never survive being put on a moving truck, so don't even think about doing that. The build quality is acceptable for the low price, but IKEA stuff is much, much sturdier (and a little more expensive).

And how high is that opening under 1st shelf, is it acceptable to be but above the heat went?

I put mine together last week. I will say on carpet it is very unstable you have to screw it into the wall or what I did is put furniture sliders under the bottom to brace it. If you look the bottom is hollow on the Target one unlike Walmart or Ikea which has more boards against the floor.
