Does this work if you are not currently a PS Plus subscriber? I let mine expire 4 or 5 years ago with a PS3. Wondering if I can start again using one of these codes (in the USA) and also use with a PS4 that I just got.

I can answer my own question since I went ahead and bought one (from CDKey actually). Yes, it reactivated my old content on the PS3, and I have Playstation Plus Essential for a year on the new (to me) PS4. It took a few hours after activating for the store on the PS4 to show the correct free games and discounts.

I got the code and it worked just great. However, it was about €44 and PayPal shafted me in the conversion from usd to euro which in turn made it $50 instead of the advertised $41.60.

Buy the 1 year essential on here for 40 bucks and then pay the extra 60 on PlayStation to upgrade you save 20 bucks that is what I did and it's worth it
