I would say no. It has some heightened elements with enemies and bosses, but I would call it as a more traditional action game. If you are worried about it being too scary I would not hesitate to recommend but if you are looking for horror I would steer you away. Overall it is a very good game with lots to explore and challenging bosses.

I never understood why people post 'deals' about used games. And this is not even a good one.
I get it. But since it's Nintendo, a $20 savings is worth noting.

It took me a really long time to beat it the first time I played it, but I'd recommend against easy mode just so you can actually get better at the game. The second and third times I played it, it took me far fewer attempts to beat bosses and it started to actually feel kind of easy. This was before the easy mode came out.
