Then you and the other guy are clearly doing something wrong and might want to recheck before writing completely false statements:

See those dates one is within 6 months the other in the last month. The x60 is as stable as it gets but also varies on the hardware version there are over 4 of them.

Tp-Link does regular updates and has for over 2 years now for almost all their product lines (deco 100%), but if something is not broken then why try to fix it, unlike a few other brands who fix one thing and break another so they have to rush to push another firmware out, I wont name names but you probably know who that is.

Yep, plus the guy is blowing smoke.
These have run nothing but stable, much more reliable than the Orbi Wi-Fi 6 system
You can ask for price adjustment next week when its reduced. You don't have to return.

Yeppers. Did that right out of the box. Super impressed with the range/speed/stability. Definitely better than the Orbi RBK53 these replaced, and much smaller units, too.
How did you change to only use as access point ? Can't find in setting

The best way to purchase these types of products from Costco is online. You don't have to deal with the look they give you when need to return it after a year.

I returned my deco m9 plus because their latest update really screws up the system. My devices kept losing connection and need to run the analyzer to fix issues.

I don't have those issues any longer and will not update deco products again if all is working fine.

Yep one of the nice things of all these mesh systems, you can just change them to access points whenever you want if you dont want them to route.
What's the difference between routers and scars points? I thought routers provide the access points or routers worked as access point..

Routers handle all the main work so you always need a router, access points just worry about talking to all the wireless devices, thats probably as simple as I can put it.

A normal router is a router and an access point in one and can also become just an access point if needed.

I picked these up and they drop internet at least once a day I'm left without internet. Sometimes I have to reboot them two or three times to resume internet. I usually never have to reset my modem but have a few times. It always seems to happen at the worst time like when we're streaming movies in bed or trying to get some productivity done. We were using these because our router is on the west end of our house and the Nighthawk just didn't have the range so I really would like to keep them if possible.

Can I buy this, keep two and give one to a friend? Or does it have to be tied to one isp?

It's essentially a 3-pack bundle with identical routers. You can for sure use them separately.

I did the same thing, replaced my Orbi RBK53 with these. Much more reliable Wi-Fi. The old Orbi also had increased latency when connected to the satellite compared to connected to the main router; whereas with these I'm seeing the same low latency regardless of whether I'm connected to the main weird AP or am the satellites.

Please elaborate!
Please read: https://openwrt.org/meta/infobox/broadcom_wifi

context: BCM devices are famous for out of date kernels, trash firmwares (that no one can fix because BCM refuses to release sources for them), and aren't updated frequently (especially once they're 1-2 years old).

BCM devices might cost less (and for now, that means maybe you'll wait longer for a better 6e chipset router), but they end up being paperweights in a short while minus a few exceptions (like the raspberry pi 4 which has a monumental FOSS effort going on). Basically BCM devices are known to be poor value which is why they're cheaper. People don't know any better and buy them looking at the label/spec but don't realize they're screwing themselves later on.

The TM-1900AC (that was famous on SD) was a good example of this. Buggy firmware, didn't support a bunch of functions (even on dd-wrt), and does not have openwrt support. First party (ASUS) firmware updates removed a bunch of features afterwards, like DFS support on 5 GHz AP and operation was not stable for a lot of things. asuswrt was worse than openwrt (except for the people that didn't know better).

Feel free to ask more questions if you like, I'll respond whenever I have the time to.

The way I frame this deal is that it's great value (and thanks OP!) for $300 and 3 x 6e APs, but it's a terrible long term purchase and routers depreciate so quickly (they like, halve in price every 8-12 months) it's better to just wait for proper software support and a chipset that doesn't screw you in the long term.

Yeah these are miles better all round, while being smaller and consuming less power. I also could never get the wired backhaul working with the RBK53, at any point. I had no problem adding the Deco as wired backhaul, - took mere minutes to set everything up. Bye bye, Orbis.
