AquaWater09901 have you confirmed that this works to get you to 28MPH? Also recognize you have the Big Swell I believe. Have been trying this on the Big Sur, as others have said, perhaps with other models as well they haven't been able to change it.

Perhaps you even have a different LCD Display? I can see on the back of mine it says it is Model AK47.

I have tried searching for hacks on Model AK47 but haven't come up with anything, but see this is in fact the display as quantities can be bought from Alibaba etc, showing this display.

I did notice I can get to some type of undocumented menu on mine with PO levels and settings by holding down the up and down at the same time while the display is on.

Edit:

Ah, I figured out how to remove the limit!!

These PO settings look to be standard.
So get to the PO settings by holding the Up/Down at the same time after the LCD is on.
Click on the power button to go through the PO's.
PO8 is the limit! This is in kmh, this was set to 32, bump this up with the up arrow to 41. That is the max I could change it to. This works out to 25.5 mph.
After this change I can get to 25mph going down a hill.
On a straight road I can cruise at about 22 with full throttle. Pedaling fast like crazy I can get it up 24.

So this is a bit of an increase. Perhaps with a bigger front sprocket I could peddle a bit normally and get to 25.

Perhaps it is a limit of the 350W motor or the battery to get me with throttle to 23 or so, but I don't think the controller itself will let me go above 41kph with motor assist.

Possibly changing wheel size, PO6, would allow assist at faster speed?

FYI, I see some people have commented about their having 5 instead of 3 levels. This can be set in the PO5 setting.

Here are the PO settings for an entirely different controller, but they look pretty close from what I see. https://elecbikeparts.com/pages/s...ser-manual

There could be some other cool settings to see what they are and work with them.

for example: P12 PAS Start Strength
0-5, Higher = more assistance
Amount of assistance given when you start pedaling.

I am thinking this must be low. It seems to give very little help right away. Perhaps a safety feature set at factory? But I want help right away!

Or PO9 might affect how quickly it helps?
P09 Throttle Response
0 for instant throttle, 1 for delayed throttle
Sets whether pressing throttle and motor beginning to spin is instant, or whether there is a delay between the actions.

Edit: P09 was already set at 0 and can't be changed
P12 was set at 3 and can't go higher, but it can go lower.

FYI, read on this site https://power-bicycle.com/ebike-power/ that hub motors are pretty much limited to 25.

"Once the ebike is travelling at 25 MPH, the controller-wheel speed is maxed out. You can't go far over 25 MPH on most hub motors unless the motor & controller pair are designed for higher speeds."

This guy also talks about a smoothing circuit the mfgs implement for greater distance. Something about a loop back wire that can be removed to increase initial assistance but at
a sacrifice in distance.

Is this random china stuff?

Not a lot of reviews. I got a warning going to this site (possibly fraudulent?).

Why don't they sell any ebikes on their non-corporate site?

Is anyone else concerned this is a knockoff? Joyridebikes.com is the original site (since 2001) selling Hurley and joyridebike.com (since 2015) is painted with 'weird' all over it.

I attempted to cancel my order the day after it was placed. I emailed Joyride and did not receive a response. I emailed them again a few days later and once again did not receive a response. Finally, I contacted Paypal after which Joyride responded stating that it was then too late to cancel which still had not shipped but that I should just refuse delivery from FedEx, which I did. The item was shipped back to California and signed for on their end and they are trying to say that that is delivery confirmation. I am still currently being charged which I will obviously never have to pay but what a giant headache. I will NEVER do business with this company again.

Why would you worry if you used a credit card? Seriously. Are you delusional or haven't bought anything since 1960?

I received 12 bikes. One doesn't work. Are you saying I should worry, because it is fun to worry? Or do you not realize I am completely covered as you should be as well?

He is just a troll that didn't even buy a bike and now he is jealous so he is trying to convince everyone else to not buy one.

Meanwhile I just got back from a nice ride on my mini swell, then took the Big Sur out for a spin.

Obviously the credit card will not do anything to help you out down the road. The bikes were bought with no warranty. They say nothing of any sort of warranty on their website. They do not reply when asked if there is a warranty. Your telling everyone that the warranty is through your credit card company is a joke. Let us all know how it goes when you try to file a warranty claim when one of the 4 bikes, no 12 bikes, no 14 bikes that you bought has an issuelaugh out loud When most local bike shops won't service a Hurley bike for a warranty claim.

Has anyone had a response from JoyRide in the last week? If you have can you let us know as the penny is dropping here that they've actually packed up and disappeared (while keeping their website ecommerce and 3PL logistics running to clear out their remaining inventory)
I have not had any luck on a response. Asked for support last Wednesday (9 days ago) and got none. They did however process a refund for the bike that never shipped. I still need a response about the wrong helmet they shipped me.

This is from their terms and conditions:
"We do not warrant that the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you will meet your expectations, or that any errors in the Service will be corrected." Does this apply to their bikes, or just to the use of the website? It was under "terms of Service."

I wish I had known this prior to purchasing. Oddly enough, they do have a warranty submission form on their website: https://corporate.joyridebike.com...contact-us

Someone checked with Wellbots and was told they are coming from Joyride through Wellbots as I recall. Same models, same inventory being available, etc.

You realize there is a warranty, correct? Not sure why you think there isn't. It is right here in the manual, and people have already stated it on this forum. Now, whether they actually do anything with their warranty may be questionable.

I have a local bike repair guy who I am sure would write up an estimate. Amex even pays for their estimate time, and then will pay up to the cost of the item.

These parts look pretty standard, controller, battery, motor. For example on my Betty that isn't working, if Joyride doesn't respond, I will do a chargeback or purchase or return protection, then buy a new 20" rear wheel, or whatever.

No response to any emails for about 2 weeks, except the automated one. My bike has a hole in a weld on the fork, and a throttle that is only OFF or 100% throttle.

Looks like we got ripped off, boys! Best to contact your credit card companies and get a chargeback!

Link to a better deal? If you have one post it, otherwise you are just trolling this thread.

You didn't buy a bike and you weren't wronged in anyway, yet you insist on posting the same thing over and over. OK we heard you the first three times, move on.

Thousands and thousands of bikes were sold through this deal

Bought a Big Swell and after a month finally received it and the battery and mount broke during shipping. after about another 3 weeks I finally got a replacement battery and mount in the mail. Finally used it yesterday for the first time and got 23 miles on a full charge out of the 60 advertise what a damn joke! This is some BS
Did you charge it completely before use? Mine arrived with 3 green bars but still took 3-4 hours to completely charge.
