I purchased the Firman 7500W Running / 9400W Peak Tri Fuel Generator (Model T07571) for $699 several months ago. It's still new in the box... Is it worth returning for this higher priced, but higher output model?

I would upgrade. You can't have too much power during a outage.

Just remember the 7500W is a tri fuel generator. A big plus as far as I'm concerned

Balance power needs and output against the fuel source needed and convenience of hookup.

I'm sticking with the tri-fuel because gas and propane are something I'd need to source externally (outside the house) and NG is easy to hookup and will run doing must power outages for as long as I'll need it without having to leave the house or shut down the generator to refill.

The tri-fuel (still on sale for $699 at my local warehouse) will have enough output on NG to run my entire house without central air, or just central air and not much if anything else.

The tri-fuel flexibility was one of the reasons I purchased this particular model. We have pretty stable power (suburban NJ) and have not had an outage in a few years, so the generator is only intended for use "just in case", so I was trying to weigh the importance of tri-fuel and the lower overall cost, vs gas-only, higher cost but higher output.

I appreciate the feedback.

That 25% THD looks terribly high as a generator to be used as backup for the house.
