Both the Amazon listing and the manufacturer's website [metabo-hpt.com] say that it's brushless.

They are brushless and much better than a black and decker set. I have these. Very compact drill and driver.

I have their 36v hammer drill as well. It's way bigger and heavier. The 18v drill does fine for most tasks.

Can anyone share their experience with the Metabo warranty?
It sounds pretty good and better than some other brands:

Lifetime warranty on tools.
2 years warranty on battery.
1 year warranty on charger.

Still backordered and shows shipping in 1-2 months, but this set is now $99.
I have plenty of other Metabo tools (from the 7 tool kit in December) and don't need this but would be pretty nice to have this lightweight combo + the extra 18V/36V battery!

Does anyone know if the 18V charger will charge the Multivolt battery?

I feel like they're just waiting to ship the drills after Sept 30 so they don't have to give away all the free batteries. It's not a sale until your credit card is charged.

I received the 18v/36v battery approximately one month after submitting the rebate, no communication really, it just showed up shipped by fedex.
