I can see this being more useful cutting sheet metal/metal roofing out similar material. Much easier to make a straight cut with this vs an angle grinder.
They should have made it 4" so you could use all the existing 4" angle grinder wheels that are available.

Why'd you have to cut up the boxed for recycling?

I have the Ridgid version of this tool. Awesome. I probably use it more than any other tool outside of my impact driver. You'd be surprised how handy it is. I can't speak to the Ryobi directly, but I would think it's capable.

Wondered the same thing as I was using the Ryobi Angle Grinder as a cut off tool after dumping air tools.

Advantages of the cut off that might matter at times:
Brushless, much faster 19,500 vs 6500rpm, lighter 1.14lb vs 6.18lb(?), compact size, probably more accurate cuts.

While the grinder quickly destroys everything I need cut up, would still get this for the above reasons, if it was in stock at this price.

EDIT: Changed stores to 34668 and now shows free ship to home. (changed back to normal store and now shows free ship to home there as well). Ordered one.

I have it and use it regularly. Everything you talk about is true. Entirely different tool than a die grinder or angle grinder of any size.

The ergonomics of it like a tiny high speed circular saw cannot be understated. The angle of your hand and the fact that you can lay that tiny table on the work are brilliant. All sorts of cheap disks around fit it too.

This was available for free shipping and instore pickup everywhere all of sudden, but unfortunately it only lasted less than 30 minutes.... I should've bought one.

Looking at HD reviews it seems the tool shuts off on anything being cut except for minimal material. Could be a factory manufacturer problem of having the cut off circuit set too low to save the lithium battery but not a safety issue so no recall. I am just guessing here but too many negative reviews mentioning this.

I have this, have used it to notch stripped bolts and make cuts on some steel furniture. Haven't tried it on tile or anything, but came with a disc for it.

Comfortable in the hand, super easy to use. Hasn't given me any problems, but also hasn't seen heavy regular use.

Would recommend, especially at this price.
