Actually like the design of this, especially at this price.

Full tang, saw back, and has a hammer pommel.

Are we sure this is full tang. There's set screws at both ends of the handle.

It they're just fur the handle, it's prefer to take them out and knock in some pins or loctite then at least.

Main Prepper on YouTube (before he vanished) used to like these cheap S&W knives but I've seen too many broken ones in reviews.

Probably for the rubberized grip. The tang is full and forms into a hammer pommel on the end of the handle.

I think I've seen broken knives with just about any "popular" brands. Have never had it happen first hand with a S&W, but I'm sure it does. Even still, if you can get them for $10-20 and beat on them for awhile, it's still worth it. If they break under warranty you can get another , and if not, spend a few bucks foe a new one.

Nah - I've never seen a broken Gerber StronghArm or Ka-Bar although I'm sure they are out there somewhere. I actually have one of the cheap S&W knives (also supposed to be full tang) but I know not to baton with it or do something stressful where knife could break and/or cause injury. Its not like a good knife costs a lot. I get the Ka-Bars new on sale for $50

This wouldn't be a fair comparison. They're both fixed blades, but two very different knives.

S&W Gerber
$20 vs $70

L: 12 inches vs 9.8 inches

Blade: 7 inches vs 4.8 Inches

Steel: 8Cr13MoV vs 420HC

Hammel Pommel vs Striking Pommel

Sawback vs No Sawback

Do you like your Ka-Bar knife? I had read that they also can break off at where it connects to the handle. My son inlaw sent me on before he left the Marines. I have not used it yet.

He was a multi-tour special forces vet with worsening neurological problems. He was obviously getting sicker and having trouble speaking well. His vids were ace

Yes I've heard of some knives breaking.
But then again few knives have the track record of the Ka-Bar
I got a newer one with the Space Force logo on it
I bought it to keep in a bug-out bag where I might need something larger (it replaced a $25 S&W)
Its a bigger knife than my StrongArm that I use a lot and like the size of .
I got a Leatherman this year and tbh its better than a lot of knives
I wont be batoning wood with it but its sharper than a lot of knives and built like a tank
