My mother was told she had bad arteries and so at every meal she ate dry salad and "enjoyed" smelling the food other people ate. She died in her early 50s by a speeding police officer who did not have his siren on who accidently hit her.
My uncle enjoyed food. He enjoyed salt. He pretty much salted each seperate bite on his fork. He died in the hospital after a spinal op created sepsis.
Having never seen a loved one die or be sick from eating fun food, I personally enjoy eating every day favorite fun wonderful foods as if each day might be my last because it might be. Eating fun food for pleasure is how to live.
