I got the 6a for free (Xfinity Mobile) and I wouldn't recommend it. Had to disable 5G to prevent constantly heating up. Wifi-calling doesn't connect automatically without toggling Airplane Mode. Fingerprint scanner is very slow and inconsistent. Battery life just barely makes it through the day. Fast charging is significantly slower than my old Moto G. Google's support answer is to just send you another refurbished model if you have a problem. No way I'd pay $400 for this phone.
careful, it's locked and takes 12(?) months to unlock
Unlock policy: https://www.mintmobile.com/mint-m...ck-policy/

"Customers must have had their locked device activated on Mint Mobile service for no fewer than 12 months and not have had their telephone number recycled or ported."

"Customers are eligible for this program only once every twelve months."

Did you check by inserting another carrier sim?

Can you port out then port back in to get this deal? TiA
I'm planning to do this, as I'm on month 3 of a 3-month plan. I don't see why not (I didn't see any restrictions on where you port in from), but what do I know? Smilie My other thought was to just grab a number from Google Voice and port that in, then transfer my number over from my other Mint account. Someone please correct me if either of these strategies is wrong...

Second method would work, first probably would not.

Deal sounds great to me. A 4GB plan is at least $12/mo. and that's even if you jump from introductory offers here and there. That's $144. The remaining $200, you're getting a freaking solid display, camera, etc. You get a new phone with lots of freshening updates to come and a long warranty.

Yes and very quick. Yiu have to unlock the GV number first in your Google account. The account number is your phone number and pin is the voicemail pin you set for it. Zip code is 94043 which is google headquarters, but I suspect it can be anything. Mint seems to know how to handle GV numbers in their transfer wizard. Mine ported over within a few minutes.

Just received the phone.

Popped in my tmobile sim and it works. I did not change any settings so I am guessing these phones come unlocked.

I got mine yesterday and just swapped in my US mobile SIM, which works on Verizon network, and it worked right away in the pixel 6A. No carrier lock evident. I will activate the mint sim at the end of my billing cycle with my current carrier.
