Got this awhile back. Make sure you cover it once done. Mine rusted. Also, I used high heat paint.
got one, cheaper than a paper shredder
Great for the money. I've been using mine daily all summer. Drilled more holes in the bottom for more air flow. The top has fallen apart and it's begun to rust. You can buy a replacement cover at Menards for $15 if you need one. I live in the Midwest and don't care…it was less than $18. I've had the same exact things happen with a $250 pit.

Don't hesitate, this is great for what it is.

Hmm, 16 bux for this or $2000 for pros to build a stone fire pit. I think I'll try this first.

I have bought probably 5 of these now. For anything under $20, these are worth it. You'll get a couple years use out of it before it rusts too much to use. As long as you're not buying this with the expectation that you're going to get 5 years of use out of it you'll be happy. These are basically disposable at this price and they go on sale every year.

Ordered this and it arrived yesterday, and decided to assemble it today. All I can say is this is the biggest "DIY Assembly" piece of trash I have ever encountered. What should've been a quick 10 minute assembly turned into about an hour. 8 screws, 4 nuts, and 8 washers. All fine and dandy if the quality control was good, but nope. Parts weren't machine property and it was very difficult to get some of the screws to thread. They included a "hexagon wrench tool", which is rather fragile, and you have to be able hold the support rings against the legs while you're screw them in. Doable if the parts were made properly, and still more suited to someone with small fingers. But was determined to work through it, so I pulled out the Workmate to help hold things down and together. Then I got down to the last two screws. One bad hole and one bad screw. To make it work, I had to go get different screws. One of the included screws wasn't even punched properly so that you could fit the tool into it. The head was nearly flat with just a slight indentation. Still got it together. Also, worth noting is that there is no part support. The instructions say that if the parts aren't correct, you should return it to the store. Waste of time. The one positive highlight of it all was a spider decided to hop on over by me when I started, then curled up and watched me the whole time. Guess he found the rage entertaining. Photos of junk screw and spider attached. Smilie

What does this mean?

Isn't a bowl far smaller and far more convex than the fire pit? Like why not just make a fire in a bowl then?
