Merrell has the following text on every Hydro Moc product page:

SIZING
The Hydro Moc is designed to be an easy on / easy off shoe, so sizing is generous. If you normally wear a half size in Merrell footwear, we suggest you size down in this product, rather than ordering the ½ size larger.
So if you aren't wearing a half size shoe size (10.5, 11.5, 12.5) but a full size shoe (size 10, 11, 12) then you probably want to get your proper size. But some people don't know how to size shoes properly. Your toe should not be touching the end of your shoe. You should be able to put your thumb in-between your big toe and the end of your shoe. That's proper sizing. So if you are improperly sizing yourself right now, then you compound the mistake when going a size down or vice versa (going up a size).

Merrell is nearly as bad as Cloumbia boots ans shoes now...in less than a couple of months the seams at the outside toe box will start leaking. Half a dozen pair of allegedly "waterproof" Merrell's all developed the same exact problem (just as 4+ pairs of Columbia's).

Yeah I agree! I wear 12-12.5 (mostly 12)for all athletic shoes and the 12 Hydromoc fits perfect and can still wear socks, I can wear the 11's but they are a little tight. My thoughts are choose the whole size that's a half size down if you are a half size and normal size if your a whole size..

I love my black hydromocs (the most standard color) but tried a pair that was the "bloom", those went right back! The bloom pair was crazy slippery on the inside right out of the box, and a noticable difference to the originals..
