Is there a significant difference between those "standards" and the "premiums" sold at Costco?

I wondered the same and searched. Reviews say premium burns hotter for hot and fast grilling, but makes lots of stinky smoke when used for low and slow barbecue.

Premium uses more wood char I believe, that helps get the temps much hotter than the standard bags.

I used to only buy this. Recently I started using fogo premium lump charcoal. It's about $20. What's cool is that after you're done cooking, you can close the grill vents and it stops burning so you can reuse it. I get about 2x to 3x the use out of a single bag of the fogo versus one bag of this.

Price is one thing but my rant is it's not as good as it used to be
By the time it ashes over you are hard pressed to finish cooking chicken before it starts burn out...

We bought this then went to Costco and seen a better deal. It's not on their website though. The price was $16.97(?) and it looked like bigger bags. Sorry not much info other than stop at Costco first.

If you don't have a Home Depot near you, most Walmart's have this for $18-20 depending on area or state.
