Tracfone on Ebay currently has the Sim kit (Verizon) + 1 year plan (1200 min/text, 3GB data) at $40.8. If you are on desktop, there should be a banner on the top of checkout page that let you apply the coupon directly. If you don't see it, you can just enter the code "LABORDAYSAVE" manually.
Depending on your need, the Tracfone phone bundle may be a better deal for you. However, this is a still decent deal for people who don't need a phone and only want to have new Tracfone service or extend their Tracfone service. One major benefit for this vs the service you get from phone bundle is that you do get more data (3GB vs 1.5 or 1.2GB). Though, you do get less min/text and it doesn't come with a phone.

People with T-Mobile and AT&T are already getting notices to move to Verizon
Not sure why this item still advertises other networks.
This must be a dated item
I would stay away if a non Verizon network was needed
What will you do with the current airtime? Lose it?
If you're adding a new line to your existing account, check on the prevailing promotions; TF usually has a 7K points offer for adding a line; they have occasionally offered upto 10K points.
If you're using this to renew / extend existing service, you can't directly get points; I've seen some posts about a hack (add it as a new line in your account, then after 60 days merge it with the existing line) but haven't tried / tested this.

You'll get 60 some points to add this on is my guess. Nothing that can purchase a plan.

In the first case - I needed to follow up with the CS to get points added, but got the full points added after 60 days.
In the second case - along with activation, I saw the points getting "added" to my account; I still can't redeem the new points until the 60 days is complete, but do see them there.
IMO - going through CS to activate (instead of either web or app based activation) ensures that points are added.
