These are my favorite workout shorts. Nice deep pockets. I got them used at REI for about $10

These used to be really durable; my first pair lasted about 15 years before I lost it in the airport. Newer versions, however, have a serious weakness in the waistband elastic, causing them to expand
dramatically (think going from a small to extra large in the waist).
Until they fix the elastic issue these are overrated for their expensive price.

How deep could the pockets be being a 5" pair of shorts?

Baggy 5" shorts for when you want to get arrested for sitting down at the mall. Just trying to enjoy my Cinnabon with my junk sitting next to me. No big deal officer.

Thanks OP in for my third pair. For those that don't have a pair of these they have a liner brief. For us shorter people 5" inseams are great. I think they hit about 2 - 3" above my knee.
